Hey guys so took my zed to Jim a few weeks ago to have some reconditioned turbos fitted, upon lifting the engine Jim found a few causes for concern, shoddy rebuild work from the previous owner. So we have decided to go ahead and fully rebuild the engine. I'll be using this thread to post progress pictures and info... I intend to go and see Noel after I've settled the engine in and then fingers crossed the car will be going in for a full respray , all new mouldings,trim etc ... Watch this space !

Jim reckoned it had new bearings at some point , and no your completely right I did ask but was told " I do have it all somewhere" the car did drive fine and pulled well and I had just made a 5 hour trip to Ipswich so I naively let it slip, there's no doubt about it the owner was a complete cheapskate and should never be let near a car again, my plans were to forge from the beginning anyways so the fact that I had to rebuild sooner rather than later, didn't as so much bother me but yeah this is a number 1 case for buyer beware. Don't let the heart dictate the head !

thats if he did any work in the first place I would just forget the bad bits of ownership and look forward to

having a well set up Z good luck for the future

Well it's currently Tuesday, the z1 order came in today at very early 7 am I did not enjoy being woken up however that all changed when I saw the courier ....

Hey guys quick update heads are on! Also ordered unorthodox racing crank and water pulleys w/belts and urethane motor mounts , also have noel sorting the engine management side of things with a nistune board!

I've still got a few things on the shopping list to order just generally cleaning up the engine and making it look as pretty as it will perform!

If I was you I'd be seriously excited by this point.

Yeah I think I saved 40 bucks ! Just an excuse really to buy some parts! , i should be down with kev harbisher in the coming weeks when the cars finished provided Him and Jimmer get sorted with a date to get his zed booked in
