For some strange reason I was thinking about this the other day. Obviously most of us have an alarm/immobiliser etc but does anyone do anything else to keep the cars safe

For example, I was thinking, would it be a good idea to remove the odd fuse so the car wouldn't start and things

Remove the engine, that would make it difficult to drive away.

keep mine in the back garden and lock the gates. i feel sorry for anyone who has to park it on the main road or even on the drive for every one to see.

Mole grips.?? lol

An Australian man has been remanded in custody after police found him driving without a steering wheel.

The 38-year-old was pulled over in the Adelaide suburb of Gilles Plains on Monday morning for dangerous driving with two blown tyres.

On closer inspection police discovered that the white Holden sedan was being controlled with a set of pliers, which had been attached to the steering column.

PMSL.... only in Oz....

But back to the question - and I don't mean this in a negative way - but why bother with anything else than a normal cat-1 alarm/immobiliser system? Our cars are insured; and if anyone was hell bent on stealing the car, then it would not matter what security you had, they would find a way around it.

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

So I think a lot of the better thieves still take cars with cat 1 systems.

Regards the insurance... You never get back the true value, some mods are very hard to find or replace and youd probably have to fight to get whatever you do. Plus ID rather keep my zed rather than having to but another one.

Same argument the GPS, ID rather them not be able to take it at all

Finger print recognition

Key code pad

If storing for the winter

Remove a wheel

Remove battery

Got a set of gates on my drive and also the drive is covered by cctv which I can monitor remotely :

Also, tied your car up in bondage gear....................only the kinky thieves will have a go at undressing that one ;)

Peter

Its shite it's to be honest.

couldnt even tell you a make or model cos there's no branding on it.

plan to change it for a hikvision digital system shortly.

can tell you that it's an analog night vision camera made by hikvision which is good

but I'll be moving to a full digital setup shortly.

So what kind of CCTV system do you have mate

I just leave mine on the drive and most of the time the key is in the ignition, not stolen as yet!!
