Time to put the z back on the road so looking for insurance...

 

Aways used Houghtons but they stopped dealing with grey imports, moved to footman james, they went daft money but blamed my wifes conviction for using her phone even though they insured it the year before with that conviction declared, moved to Arian Flux but their price went up even though nothing changed for me and the z did less than 500 miles in the year... so... who's using who? I have a JDM NA Auto and I'm very old lol :)

I am with Lynbrook insurance on Classic cover and they only took £360 off me with a £10,000 agreed value and zero no claims to use...... oh an car declared on driveway not garage as well......

They gave me the best quote this year, Steve. Footman James (apparently superb for Zed insurance) wouldn't even give me a quote...!!

Quoted me £135 for 1500 miles, I told them the recommendation came from the 300zx.co.uk club and they knocked another £15 off for being a member of a club... bonus :)

 

Cant understand why some of the classic insurers started to bump up the prices on imports.. When I had my 1st N/A Shorty import back in 2003 Iwas payin under £100 for 3000 miles with Houghtons, now they wont even quote on a JDM Z??

I really need to look into this next year when my Zed is back on the road, but about 2 and a half years ago (so I would have been 32 or 33) I was paying around £700 for my NA, through Adrian Flux. My 2.0 Galant estate costs me almost £400 a year now at 35!. I have no points, limited milage, and something like 12 years NCB. I don't live in a great area though...but even so.

 

Anything under £200 I find utterly amazing, even hard to believe.

Just used these after being quoted between £10,000 and £800 for mine, fully comp classic car soc/dom 2 drivers £183.44
