...you own a zed so your a dick...

Hahaha, I really wish my sig quote wasn't full up of Specialist nonsense, because that needs to be quoted as a slogan for all Zed owners (except with proper grammar, like) :wack:

I have nothing of any substance to add to the thread. Hope it all gets sorted, seems like Gary et al. are doing what they can to sort the situation. A thankless task sometimes it seems.

Given the original thread is not about a trader your genarilisation input of "specialists" be it by observation or actual events is somewhat egotistic and frankly impertinent, if you look for imperfections you will find it , but to to corral all z traders within your narrow and confined statement is presumptive , a bit like me saying you own a zed so your a dick, not that I would but that is how your argument works against traders?????.

Disappointing....

Jeff

I think you tried a bit too hard with that post. I did suggest 'my experience' and despite what you might think I was generally referring to stateside suppliers of which I have found them wanting just recently. I work pretty hard for my money and I don't take kindly to having it wasted on rubbish and what can amount to negligence and outright lies. It's my opinion and I think you'll find I am entitled to it given my current losses. Actually I think you'll find I recommended Noz on more than one occasion over the weekend. Oh but then again I see him as a specialist tuner rather than a Zed specialist :-)

Totally agree with Jeff!

Over the years you have been singularly self opinionated to the point that I am honoured you disagree with my opinion :-)

you own a zed so your a dick

Jeff

Yes I think I almost certainly am a dick considering how much I have spent on my zeds over the years

Having been watching this forum for the past few months and looking to buy a zed there does seem to be some sort of underlying grudges continuously cropping up which I must say I have never seen on other forums of cars I've owned before and sways me more towards going down the other car choices I had in my head such a shame as I was only in a friends zed a couple if weekends ago :(

Keith

That's a shame mate, the gripes and groans of the few don't make the club though it must be said, lots of positive stuff happens and 99% of people are very friendly, that's life though isn't it.

Buy Zed, drive Zed, enjoy.

You will always get sales going wrong and people falling out over all sorts of things Keith. I am also a member of a few other forums and I must say you just wont get better than here imo. What other 300zx were you in over here?

Did Noz get his issue resolved? I see the seller has been online since.

That would be unfair to the many good people that populate this forum. More often than not those who spend time on a forum will also air their grievances in public. I imagine many of them wish they hadn't done so but we live in a world where free speech is acceptable and where everyone makes mistakes once in a while. Add that to a relatively lively forum and you will experience the occasional ups and downs.

Sorry, Silverline!

What are the committee's next plan of action?

It's a shame to not belong to a forum for that reason, and as said, the majority of guys an gals on here are spot on. Also, it's a bit of a weird statement to make that you are considering another car due to posts on a forum? Surely if you like the car, a forum should have nothing to do with the purchase of said car?

I had a bad experience on here once, not long after i first joined with a rear boot perspex strip. Sold it to a local guy from here for £20 to help him out as he said he was desperate. He then puts it back up for sale on here for a ludicrous amount. When i mention it, i just got "tough, you should have charged more for it". Took me all my strength not to go to his house and punch his face in i was so annoyed. Even after that though, the majority of people on here will do anything to help when they can and this forum has an amazing community spirit.

Peter

Silverline was updated by me yesterday and sadly still no comments or posts from the seller even though he was on line but failed to come on this or other threads.

Hi Gary,

Hasn't anyone tried to email or call the moderator? Sorry if I've missed something here

I had a little short break over to Scotland to see relatives and just so happens I have a friend there with a 300zx :)

Hi Peter I've got a few cars in mind having been into American cars for a long time with them being fairly rare and a large portion of trade and such being done through forums. I'm not one to jump to a quick decision which is why I haven't bought yet and looking for the right one. Also as I've said before with the love for skylines it really is a case of the whole package and not just deciding on the first car I want.

Sorry bob, incorrect quote ^^^ I was quoting Beardy

This forum is awesome, it is so much more personal than a larger forum; even one with as few as 500 active members. I don't know how many are really on here, but it feels like about 60 that chat often. You see it when people fall ill or have other zed or non zed related grievances, the responses you see from the club are not just piss thin throw away comments, they are heartfelt, more so than replies I would get if I was on facebook, populated by my supposed real world friends.

For the odd argument or atmosphere you get, (and recent months have been uncharacteristically tense) which are a result of cars that would test the patience of a saint, and people who genuinely care about their zed's and also care about their fellow forum members, you see ten more examples of wonderful club spirit. People driving cross country to help stranded members or deliver parts, or help swap a gearbox.

Sorry, I'm not having this forum put down.

oh dear!

Sorry, Silverline!

What are the committee's next plan of action?

To do what we can mate is all I can say for now.

I am going to second what Gary has said here. I appreciate that several people are watching this thread with interest - but the people to whom this matter is truly relevant are those involved in the deal itself!

As we always say regarding trading issues; the club will ALWAYS help out where it can and within the confines of the law (DPA) plus the willingness of the other party to co-operate. Nonetheless, please do remember that all trading transactions between two individual members are just that - just like buying anything over the internet, there are advantages and pitfalls...

The fact that the seller in this instance is a moderator, makes no difference whatsoever - moderator, committee or regular member, we all have the same rules by which to abide. Thus far, the moderator concerned has not come forth on this thread - however we should not forget that he may have his own side to the story too. And at present, Silverline is in communication with Gary regarding his own personal grievance concerning the sale. So whilst I make no bones about taking the appropriate action in the event someone (whoever they are) is guilty of questionable trading, at this stage it is still a private matter between Silverline and the moderator concerned.

As, when and if there is something to report, it will be reported so by all means please continue with the debate; be patient and respect the positions of all parties involved.

With regard to future trading activities, the situation is under constant review. We have tried a couple of new things, but without much success so far - I personally am not keen on sellers and buyers "opting into" allowing us to pass on personal details as this could have future implications for the club in the event that an issue does get as far as the courts. However it might be a solution that buyers and sellers must first exchange details with each other, before completing a transaction - as said, it's still a work in progress....!

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

LOL - how did I miss this yesterday.... Si, you're slipping in your old age my friend.... it should read "What IS the committee's next plan of action...?"
