That car is in America though, completely different market unfortunately, the z32 is far more popular over there and subsequently worth more, so simply not a fair comparison.

It's a nice car you have there, it may sell for what you've priced it at but I think it will take a long time. That price bracket you've priced it in (£5-7k) is the price tag for a A1 condition car or a A2 car in a rare spec. I know it's a later model but that doesn't really add much it's slick tops etc that are the desirable.

I'm not trying to be an asshole or anything please don't think I am, I'am trying to be constructive. I personally think from those photos etc it's about £4.5k market value. I wish you the best of luck with your sale and there are some really nice parts on that car.

Nah that's cool, I appreciate a message in a normal constructive manner which is quite hard to get on this from my experience.

I priced it comparatively to others I have seen for sale, there was a red h reg one on eBay for 6.5k etc.

I just know when I was looking, many years ago, I paid extra to get the best one I could find.

And it is in very good condition, I've only done about 25k miles in 11 years I've had it.

I am in no rush to sell but of course I am open to offers and if it doesn't sell at the price I want I will re evaluate.

And I guess I never viewed slick tops as desirable as targa is a bit different, my wife's fiesta is a slick top.

Cheers.

Hey I uploaded them the correct way up. I'm not sure why eBay decided to flip them. I tried a couple of times but still did it. Il do it from a pc instead of phone when I get a sec.

  • Author

Maybe il spray the glass white and see if anyone notices

Haha, I'm sure no one will notice.

A z that had around £70k spent on it sold for less than 20k not so long ago. This is why so many get broken for spares, the parts are worth more than the car.

Yeah it's quiet ironic really that the "poverty spec" slicktop is now the most expensive and desirable model, with 2+2 na autos being the cheapest and least desirable model. Yours is basically the same as mine with a few extra bits, mines worth about £3.5k

  • Author

What the hell did he do to it for 70k lol

I don't know enough about your car to compare it to mine tbh but I'm guessing urs is older judging by the spoiler?

And 3.5k is just crazy cheap, I would rather keep my car and save up 3.5k than sell it for that.

I don't think my car has ever been into a garage for any repair, only to get mapped and then cambelt and brake upgrade. Oh they fitted a new clutch at the same time as the brakes actually.

But nothing has ever broken and needed to be taken to the garage.

I say that and then next time I go out the engine will prob blow up.

What I'm getting at is that the car is too nice to let it go for too cheap. I have a figure I won't go past which I have had an over the phone offer at but it's too early to go at that price.

Wel see

Right***** oh god

That's one if the reasons why when I brought my house I didn't sell it, it's worth more to me than the maker value. It's an 89 2+2 chassis, but a complete frankenstine, there isn't much of it that's not been pulled apart, I can't resist fiddling with it.

If your not in a rush to sell prices are going up. I think the price is a bit high on this forum, but fix the black eye and sell it to a non zed nut as...

Look at this really interesting, unique, really fast semi convertible sports gt. It is a great normal car, or a hooligan with turbo noises if you want, the interior is proper funky and it'll do 28mpg on a cruise. Only 7 grand and low mileage.

On here slicktops and shortys are popular for their performance, thats because we all drive the heavy 4 seater t top ones. To some mid life crisis bloke who has 10 grand to spend on his sports car, he is getting more car from you than he would shopping for an mx5/porche/bmw z series, you're selling him a supercar.

  • Author

That's one reason I valued my car high though, because it hasn't been pulled apart of messed with. It's had a few upgrades but mostly it's been left as is.

Yeah I managed not to sell mine during a house buy but I just never get time to use it anymore, one of the main reasons for selling.

I don't like taking it to anywhere I have to park in public as people tend to open doors onto other peoples cars, so I have to make reasons to drive it if that makes sense.

Who doesn't love a fiddle ay!

Prices are going up? That's interesting. I have it advertised in other places as well so, like you say, I may get non forum ppl more interested.

Surprising how many ppl seem to be searching for zxs, I've had nearly a thousand views in four days across all the places I'm selling.

It's 6,5k now anyway haha

Cheers

Why haven't you had the bumper repaired? Looking at that would make me cringe every time I saw it if it were my car. If you care enough about it not to park in close proximity to others then surely you feel the same?

Yeah I see your point. I guess I've only driven it a handful of times since it happened and haven't really had spare money to do it.

I should though. I'm also scared that they'll not get the paint colour right and it will look off.

If it doesn't sell this time around il get it fixed.

Fair do's. It'd be my worry too if I was buying it. Good luck with the sale bud. 11 years is a long time, you'll miss it when it's gone!

  • Author

Yeah I see what ya saying. You're making me wanna go and get it fixed now lol

Yeah it's been a long time. I've thought about selling before but knew if I regretted it I wouldn't be able to replace it.

Keep the price as it is if you are in no rush to sell.

Too many of these cars for sale cheap as they are abused, pushing the price down for the rest of them.

Personally I think 6K for a 300zx TT is extremely cheap in A1 condition. Considering the spec as standard and the potential power with BPU.

Thanks

I agree - I have seen owners put up rattle can painted sheds for £5k! A tidy one will always be worth good money as they're few and far between. I know people have 'realistic' expectations, but I am surprised there's so much negativity toward someone wanting what they feel is the right value on something that isn't rotten or has had half a boat grafted onto it, or indeed a miserable combination of the two.

Whilst I have reservations about that front bumper (both in terms of style and condition), the rest of the car is a really nice example. The wheels and brakes alone in second hand state are worth half the asking price alone!!

Edited by Funkysi

You're asking the same price as the red one that you mentioned. That was a (arguably) more desirable SWB model and looked to be in absolutely superb condition, whereas your 2+2 Zed unfortunately is sporting damage to the front bumper.

I'd honestly consider having that repaired as, personally speaking, that'd put me off as a potential buyer for that sort of money. Not having a go, just offering some hopefully constructive advice.

I dont like the 2seaters or slick tops if I want something quick with 2seats get a bike lol...

If I pick a friend up and his with a friend I can't, my cousin and brother had 2 seater cars and sold them very quick cause it was boring not being able to take anybody out,

Also I can take 2 kids and the misses in mine the 2seater again your stuck...

U got to be very boring or lonely to need or want a 2seater car lol...unless u want it for a track car then surely has a road car it would be worth less then a mint lwb...

The lwb must have more market too, cause most people have a child/friends/family...

They did a similar thing with preludes the most basic version people started wanting no sunroof, aircon, abs, traction control,

I really dont get it lol...

I get they may be a bit lighter and a bit quicker but I'd bet it's barely noticeable in the real world,

and rarer cause nobody bought them lol...

Now everyone stop digging the best model lwb tt....lol....

I like both LWB and SWB for very different reasons. I prefer the side profile of the LWB, I find it has better proportions. I think the LWB has an awesome side profile and a much nicer roofline than the SWB. I like the SWB as I prefer the interior and it looks a little better from the back and 3/4 views.

I'd be happy with either. I'd never shoot for a slicktop however as I love t-tops and I'd not go for the convertible either as the whole roofline, a key part of the design feature of the other cars is lost (and they're only available as an NA) - I still like them though.

Im joking anyway I think there all nice but I prefer the lwb because its more practical...and I love taking the tbars off but I think it looks better with them on, i think it kind of spoils the shape a bit with them off...

I agree. They do look better with the t-tops on, but in the summer when the weather is good, they GOTTA be off! :)
