Hi folks:)

I'm looking for a front Strut Brace to fit to my car, preferably something wide, shiny (stainless/chromed) and that will fit OK with the throttle cable cover in place

Maybe something specific with a Z or Nissan logo embossed/cutout

Ebay/Google isn't really being my friend in this case and Luke over at Zcenrte doesn't have any on his site

Can anyone suggest something good?

Cheers

Rich

Yeah Rolandas that's the sort of thing I had in mind mate :innocent:

I believe those ABFlug ones are rather rare beasties though?

Rich

There's some if you look internationally, I'm guessing it's just for the looks yeah? So it doesn't matter so my about outright build quality?

@zbolt - yeah mostly I wanted it for looks TBH as I am trying to finish the engine bay off. But one that looks good and actually has some positive effect too wouldn't go amiss

I did see that post regards bad fitting ones off ebay wearing a groove into the fuel lines :death:

@rolandas - yes mate seen that link but it's $700 plus postage and probably import duty = $1000

I don't mind spending a couple hundred quid or so if I find something I realy like - but $1000!!!! I think not

Luke at Zcentre says the Carbing ones are pretty good and actually work, but it's not quite the look I was hoping for

Aha!!!

Now that looks like the sort of thing I was after - anyone got one of these fitted?

Has anyone here got something like this for sale BTW before I go and order something?

Rich

Thats not a bad one rich ive seen it on a couple of cars and polished it looks good. I would hold out and try and get the tokyo auto one like myself and phutumsch have, they look the part mate and do come up i got mine on ebay .

I bought this strut brace from ebay it came from America, was only about 40quid new... 20140608_185900_zps44oqfxo5.jpg

but it fit really bad and touched the throttle cover so I used a flap disc and ground the edge off then used a da sander to make it smooth and my bro in law took it to work painted it ford blue and then powder coat laquered it...

I think its more for show doesn't seem like it would do much...

Yeah I think your right there terry. The way I understand it, our cars suspension is designed for the force to not be loaded on the strut tops but on the FUCA, therefore it achives very little esp in the front and esp when the brace itself is able to flex or twist, those bolts will obviously move. If it was to work properly you would need solid ones, as I say though as I understand it they don't do much up front anyway.

Yeah having done a bit of reading I am also coming to the opinion they don't do very much on the front - but really this is for appearances in my case (as mr zbolt guessed) as it is pretty much a show car anyway. Well at least until I take it onto the track

Thanks to all who gave some advice but Chris (artztogo) if that is the one same as on your car then I think I will go for it as I always admired yours mate

I have an even bigger compliment for you Chris - I ordered one today

You may well of already purchased Rich I notice but this popped up today doing my daily searching - open to best offers as well and if memory serves been for sale a while, wonder if £200.00 gets it delivered ?

Includes the brake stopper, don't worry about the colour as they can easily be powder coated, chromed, etc.
