So its finally happening after been off the road for well over a year the zed is on Target for its refurbishment.

 

Last year I started with doing all the underbody suspension stuff to make the ride more stable and after that

I decided I wanted to do a full strip down to the bare shell and start from scratch to create a show quality z32.

 

After much bad luck and many thousands of pounds wasted on rotted zeds i'm cracking on with the original plan.

 

So as a quick update i'll post some older picks followed over the next few weeks by an overall progress report.

 

Starting off with how she was when I first purchased her 3 years ago until the state she is now then showing the

strip down and all the bad luck I've had.

What a great day to get the zed affairs in order, so was at my garage today and clocked in just over 5 hours of work.

 

Got most of the rear interior refitted and installed the rear brace.

 

 

 

 

The time I was nearly finished at 5pm the garage was almost in full shade so the pictures are really dark.

 

Plans for tomorrow will be to get the seats reinstalled and reassemble as much of the dash as possible.

 

That will just leave the engine to be rewired and started up.

Wheels will eventually be replaced for a polished deep dish but finances are very scares at the moment.

Due to work commitments there's no point in putting my Zed on the road this year, so I thought it would be a good opportunity to do all those small jobs and detailing that I've been meaning to do for the last couple of years however, I had run out of 'Vavavoom' and inspiration to pull my finger out! And then I read this post again!

All the makings of a lovely car to be proud of! What did you use for the edge trimming here?

 

That came from my last breaker, and believe it or not it's just black vac pipe carefully sliced to make a slot.

Few more hours on the zed today and got my seats refitted and a few smaller pieces

But a bit disappointed in the condition of the seats and interior, I forgot how bad the wear on them was.

 

Looks like i'll have to book a interior refit next year too.

Sent of my plenum last week to be polished and just got this update on its progress.

 

Just a wee update on my plenum; haven't got it back but as you can see its nearly finished.
