So its finally happening after been off the road for well over a year the zed is on Target for its refurbishment.

 

Last year I started with doing all the underbody suspension stuff to make the ride more stable and after that

I decided I wanted to do a full strip down to the bare shell and start from scratch to create a show quality z32.

 

After much bad luck and many thousands of pounds wasted on rotted zeds i'm cracking on with the original plan.

 

So as a quick update i'll post some older picks followed over the next few weeks by an overall progress report.

 

Starting off with how she was when I first purchased her 3 years ago until the state she is now then showing the

strip down and all the bad luck I've had.

 

So here she is as I bought her :

 

 

 

So on to the new loom as I remembered to bring it home this time.

 

Here's the main part :

 

 

And also bought a new alternator / gearbox sub harness :

 

The harness itself comes with a multitude of connectors, half of which I don't even remember.

 

But hopefully half of them wont be used as the harness actually caters for various years and has

multiple version of the plugs as they have changed through the years.

 

My zed is a 96 so we have the new injector sub loom here :

 

Great to have a loom where all the connectors aren't cracked or green :

 

 

 

 

There's also a quick disconnect for the dash electronics :

Just had an update from the garage and they have now officially started on my zed.

 

only a two week delay after I dropped it off to them.

Still going for that Kandy Purple? I saw one of the new Qashqai's today in a really nice purple. Looked kinda similar to the one on that Focus.

Yip, sure am.

Started to redo my main wire loom at the weekend and this is the results so far :

 

 

As you can see its only about a third done; but what you can see in the right looms way better.

OK, how do you get the rear glass out safely?

 

We can see clips at the top I'm guessing have to be pushed but what's the actual procedure for doing it in steps?

From what I have read its a very hard job as it is bonded in and you have to cut it out so not easy mate.
