What did you think to last night's Top Gear?

 

Aston and Ferrari deeeeply sexy. I would have the Aston personally, it's just sooooo sleek and agressive!:D

 

Steve Coogan demonstrated perfectly how Jezza falls into the Allan Partridge style of 'delivery'.

 

.....and the Skylark. One of the most technically impressive and exciting cars on the road today, and I'm afraid that after 'Fat Blokes' report I wouldn't bother buying one. I'd probably just go out and but an AVENSIS instead.

 

He made it sound so boring! No doubt that if you read his report as text it was informative and to the point...BUT ...I HATE the guy's delivery.

 

He keeps sounding like he wants to BURP in the middle of his sentences, and only just manages to get them out before his voice trails off into a wheezing silence!

 

If I was a Skylark owner I'd hate the bloke for reviewing it! And why didn't they blast it round the track?!?! Would have been interesting to see how it went agains the Ferrari and the Aston with 'only' 276bhp;)

 

Lets hope that the Fat Wheezing Git never gets aound to testing our ZX's!!!!:eek:

Why did they bother with this competition round the track when half of them are driving in the wet? Most of the guys are only a couple of seconds off the top time so the rain would totally wipe out the results. Surely they could have waited and filmed it all on dry days. :@

its a bit of a farce really considering the pagaini and lambo were done with a wet track, then comes along the noble and westfield and its bone dry?

how can you do an honest comparison, surly they should have organized it and run it all on the same day?

The celeb driver was Steve Coogan. He posted a time one second faster than Ross Kemp (1:53?) and it was P1SSING down when he did it. Doesn't say much for Mr Kemps "I've got a Porsche 998 Turbo and I'm a great driver" claim!:D (I hate soaps)

 

Yeah, if they're going to do lap time comparisons then they should try to get the same or similar conditions for all. Plus I still can't stand all this..."the Stig" business. Just get on with it and stop being silly!

Hate the way the "fat bloke" said that the Skylark was Japan's only serious attempt at a supercar. What about Zeds, NSX's, Supra's, 300GTO's etc............

 

Also, big question - who is the stig? Needles........?

Yep.......agree with a lot of the above......fat bloke is crap! The whole 'Stig' thing is 'kin infantile............

 

Now the fat geezer reckoned that you had to pay £40k for a decent R34.....I'm sure that you can pick up a decent one for £30k.

 

He also said that they have now stopped making Skylines whereas there was a major feature in 'Car' magazine a few months back with the new one due next year. It's based on the 350z bodyshell (but 'pumped up') and looks AWESOME.....prices were quoted at around £63k.................

A) Top Gear IMHO has come on leaps and bounds, I watched 5th Gear tonight and it was over in an instant and was the same old format...boring!

 

B) Skylines are awesome but as fat boy said...they don't have the looks of a supercar! ROFL :D

 

He also pointed out that on the R34 the G-meter and all the display gadgets get boring after about 30 secs.

 

If I had the money and the choice I would buy a Skyline but I would be hard pushed to look at the NSX to be honest! It has the performance and the looks where as the Skylark(R34) doesn't justify the 40K price tag to me.

 

R32's are a nice motor, R33 is nice and the R34 is the daddy but at the end of the day they are all saloons...I would be more happy with a Holden!

Now that is something we can definately agree on Timmy my boy!

If I had to have a saloon, ummmm not sure what reason would be that bad to make me have to have one, but, if I had to then it would be either a black R33 like Senna's (very tasty for a Skyline) or a red Holden, if I could scrape the extra £££s together.

I agree with Senna because hes a very nice man and will send me lots of MAME roms on CDR!!! Glen mail me, so I can send u some blank discs!!

From what i can remember your zed was dog slow, so if thats what your judging every other 300zx to be.. well then you might be in for a suprise.
