Oh well throwing the towel in and selling my Z.

Just reached the end of the project, engine all run in and the new bottom end has gone for some reason?

 

Any offers let me know but will need to be trailered.

Everything is new on it including new gt525 tubs.

Acl bearings internally ect.

 

No idea.

Just had enough after all this hard work.

After such a short period, (that motors not even run it yet has it?) arn't you under warranty with the builder?

Have you spoken to Terry about it, looks like he built it from your previous posts?

I got it has a built bottom end from bailey and liddle it had the sump on it and was completely built,

I rebuilt the heads fitted turbos and re fitted engine to the car,

 

 

Anthony is it knocking, whats it actually doing...bell me and ill meet up with you and were look at it...

Has anthony will tell everyone I needed some spares and I was low on money so we bought a £500 zed for bits, he lent me 250 to buy it...

Instead of giving him 250 back i removed the engine from anthonys zed then i stripped it down, the block was taken by Anthony to bailey and liddle,

Block came back ready built I stripped heads down, re seated all the valves replaced stem seals, and took every lifter apart cleaned and put them back together, then i built the engine up with new turbos new gasket, belts etc,

Then fitted it all in the car, I put a new oil cooler kit from z1 in the car,

 

Just making clear so people don't think I was charging to build engine,

When others pay on here to advertise for work,

 

I sort of needed 250quid he done me the favour and lent me it, and instead of paying it back I did some work on his car,

 

I'm a fitter by trade and have worked on cars for over 10yrs and have built lots of engines, but I dont get involved with bottom ends I don't have the tools to measure and its not the kind of thing where I have worked that the average mechanic gets involved in all the garages I've worked in let engineering shop clean, measure and put together bottom ends, then we just build it up from there,

I cant see why its gone wrong but anthony u wont be selling that car, we will look at it and if it is the bottom end I'll help u take the lump out and were take it back to bailey and liddle and get it sorted,

And i'll help u fix it for free...

So ring me lol...

It's nothing to do with Terry as the bottom end was built by B & L like he says.

It has been smoking from the driver's side exhaust.

No idea what happened by oil pressure guage has dropped right down.

My guage is on/off but when it's on it's a true reading. Vurtually sat on the bottom white line, a day ago it was above 60.

My last bottom end went and it's making the same noise at 2000rpm, nasty tinking noise.

 

Very very odd as everything is brand new.

Will find the receipt but it's been about a year of gradual running in.

Anthony can we meet up tomorrow night, are there any oil leaks on it,

Are the oil cooler lines both ok....

Is it a ticking noise or heavy knock...

Heavy knocking just like before.

Not checked anything as I was pissed.

Thousands down the drain... everything done right this time.

 

I'm in a 'burn the fncking thing' mood.

Every pipe is new, every gasket and piece of the engine.

I can't see B&L taking the engine to bits at thier expense just to fix a bottom end?

 

Or is it something to do with Z1's turbos?

PCV's are new also... was smoking from first fitment.

Just going back through our PMs earlier in the year. Was it running on stock injectors or did you fit the 600cc you mentioned along with a suitable chip?

No.

I've only just finished 1500 miles.

Was also having the smoking issue I said to you about out of the drivers side exhaust.

Was advised to give it a hard boot down the motorway to clear it.

Seemed to do the trick for a week. No smoke on start or idle... then it came back slightly.

 

Was really bugging me.

No point upgrading until the new system worked.
