I need help please guys, especially from you xtd owners.

Mark has fitted my 460ftlbs car with an xtd clutch and flywheel and has called me to say it slips in 4th and 5th. Now Phutumsh has 500 plus horse power and his doesn't slip.

Will it bed in is my hopeful question, if so, how should it be bedded in. A bit worried, I don't think its a fault with the part just either it cant hold the power, or isn't run in.

Thanks in advance guys.

I have fitted many many clutches and have never had one slip from new without being faulty. The bed-in is pretty standard and just like the bedding in of new discs and pads.

Gentle use, no fierce applications thus avoiding unnecessary excessive heat generated in the friction material and flywheel/cover for the first couple of hundred miles. Sounds like clutch maybe faulty .

Thought I'd let you guys know tge outcome of all this. After as much use as we could give it in the time availiable it got no better. So mark took it off and had a look, it had bedded but showed no signs of glazing or overheating etc, the pressure plate was found to be totally stock, so the only additional clamping is a product of the reduced surface area giving a bit more pressure. We ordered a competition clutch equivalent and it is better in every way and doesn't slip at all. So it turns out the xtd can't cope with 460 ft lbs. That said if anyone wants it (not inc. The flywheel I kept that on) offers please, as it will hold somewhere more than stock but less than 460 ft lbs, thats all I can say.

Thanks to all that helped in this matter :)

This is the trouble with these Chinese knock offs, the reduced quality control means that whilst one persons is fine another's might be crud. Is your competition clutch a puck one? Or the stage 2 normal looking one like mine?

its a 6puk clutch rated up to 650hp and the feel of it is totally different lot harder/stronger on the pedal and bite
