Hi, I am considering doing a NA diff conversion to my TT and would like comment from those that have experienced the conversion, the net is full of those for and against.

My TT has a fully forged motor with Z1 GT675 turbos and has some big power potential although I am still running in the motor.

Some time back I discovered that my TT diff had some back lash as well as my inner and outer cv's needed changing and the cost was massive due to the unavailability of spares in my country.

On the net I found that the NA conversion was the way to go and some claim "best performance mod to a TT"and in my situation was the most cost effective way to overcome my worn out rear end. I have come across a perfect NA rear complete at a very good price.

The car is not intended for track use but as a quick street car with occasional social strip run for fun.

Is this a worth while conversion from an acceleration point of view and would like to hear from the experienced.

Thanks

Hi I converted my car and I think its much better car for it,

It makes the car feel lighter, seems like the engine pulls better in any gear...

Its made the back feel a lot more solid, no more silly hicas lol...

not had it done myself but heard you can get up to a second off your 0-60 time ???? I imagine it would be louder when cruising ? less top speed ?

The revs on the motorway are up I think by a few hundred rpm so not by much,

I did have to adjust speedo a bit, but I think acceleration in all gears just pulls so much better...

top speed 165>170 depending on your tyre size

70mph @ 3000k

0>60 1sec

about 40kg lighter over all

Good for cars with power around the stock to 450ish

Good upgrade if your tracking your car

How? NA sender?

What I did was take glass off the speedo, used satnav speedo.

And moved the hand a bit down took a couple of goes but it seems right now only difference hand does not start moving to around 5mph...

Si I've forgotten to send them bloody things off...

Other way to do it is use 2 screws but my way seemed easy and works great lol...

Dont really need to know your doing under 5mph...

Speed limit around Portsmouth continental Ferryport is 4mph.

I jest.

Yeah I know you haven't!! :p

depending on the speedo .. 2 options .. adjust the needed like above .. or use the calibration Pot on the pcb board

Interesting stuff! I wasn't aware of this, I have a little project for the weekend! The RR of my 19s is slightly higher than stock and would like to knock my speedo down a peg.

Hi Terry, thanks for the info, you confirm exactly what I wanted from this conversion.

I think my speedo should be ok as I have used a NA gear box wich has the correct speed sensor for the NA diff although my 19" wheels may cause it to under read.
