OK - so the Zed has Gaz coilovers on rather than std suspension. This has created an even stiffer ride than the Teins I used to have and although this may be ideal for the track, just driving around is getting uncomfortable. Part of the problem is that although the rears have been adjusted to a soft setting (which makes the rear bounce), the fronts cannot be adjusted and are set on the stiffest level. So, I am after any ideas on how to make the ride more comfortable. Is it worth looking at other parts of the suspension at all?

Any help appreciated.

Greg

You could potentially change the springs to a softer set. Tbh even stock suspension is quite harsh compared to your average car. Mines on bilstiens hitting pot holes feels like being punched in the chin.

I am already fat and cannot sit on a cushion as my arse only just fits in the recaro's! On a cushion I would be all over the place! :D

Maybe going back to standard Z32 springs could be an idea - anyone got any spare I can buy off them?

I've got some standard ones Greg, what are you doing with the coilovers?

Running 8.5 & 9.5 wide BK993's. Not sure what to do with the coilovers yet as will need to assess std vs rock hard ride! Have seen a set of std ones on ebay - are they your baz?

No I mean what diameter, if your running 18s or 19s you may find a 17" wheel will give more sideway and be more forgiving.

I am running 18's on these alloys as they are the ones that came with the car. Do you think 17's would be better since you could have a thicker tyre sidewall rather than a 40mm rubber band currently on there (and 35 on the rear)?

That's what I'm suggesting yeah, the best option would be to borrow some 17s and see how they feel. It may not have the desired effect, quite an expensive experiment.

I thought the ride in mine was really comfy, compared to the 'slammed' Vectra GSi I had. But then I am on oem UK wheels and springs with KYB AGX dampers.

I got the Gaz coilovers off a member on here late last year. They are height adjustable yes, and are set about halfway otherwise the front spoiler hits the local speed bumps.
