how long did you have it running and was it just at idle...reason i ask is because that will be the water temp in the block and it needs at least 10-15 mins at variable rpm,s to get the water pumped around the rad and have the rad water at 82 degrees...plus did you bleed it correctly on the refill?

I had it running idle for around 10 minutes.I just refilled the rad then topped it up every so ofter.Mate id there another way to bleed it so i dont get a airlock. Also there is no air bleeder on the left soie of the rad. Thanks

Try get the front of car higher in the air...have your cabin temp set at max heat. when you start filling from cold take your time and let the air come out slowly (5 mins or so). Now start the car and let it idle with the rad cap off for 10 mins and bring the water to the bottom of the filler neck and make sure your coolant tank is up to the max mark. Then re-fit cap and lower the front down...sounds like you had an air lock mate. Also did you fit the stat with the toggle pin at 12 oclock

If the water in the rad is colder but the engine is warm I would say the temp valve is stuck shut so

the hot water can't get to the rad or your rad is blocked up via an air lock and isn't circulating properly.

is it possible the new water valve was buggered before it was installed ?

Get it back out if you can and test it in a pot of hot water.
