Right, I'm looking into this with various insurance companies and will be available to valid club members (so get your money to Craig).

Firstly, Craig was dealing with a guy called Chris from Bickley Insurance. He has agreed to look into a club scheme but has asked if anyone needing a quote in the very near future to send him a mail with all the details - chris@bickleyins.com and he will get you a quote. If you do contact him, can you send me a quick mail letting me know how competitive he is, so I can keep tracks with him.

Secondly, does anyone know which companies already have schemes set up for other clubs. Craig told me that Dorset insurance now do the MR2 guys, does anyone know of any others? If you do know any others, do you know what they offer to clubs?

Cheers

Why not see if we can do some form of joint deal with the ZClub? Must be worth asking. They've got over a thousand paying members and we've got...

AY3388 told me that the Lancia Club had insurance deal with AON

I've spoken to Livingstone's who are definetly interested in our club. I've mailed him with some more info, so I'll wait and see what he says.

Crossgate, I have to call back at the end of the month (the guy I need to speak to is on his hols).

Stuart, who's AON??

Any other ideas??

Cheers

Vijay

I have no idea. Its who insure the Lancia Club. But you have to be 24 I think it was to be insured with them on the club insurance.

I can try get a number if you wish

cheers Stuart, if there's anyway you could get the number, I'd be grateful. It just makes life easier if I can deal with people who already look after a club.

Thanks

Vijay

Aon are the worlds largest insurance broker. They are massive! Operate all over the world and are worth ££billions. They do specialist insurance, commercial insurance, oil rigs, satelites and all that stuff. They have an office in devonshire square london, but they are all over. Try 192.

Try Footman James Vijay, they are one of the fastest growing insurance co.s in the UK.

They are already deeply involved in Classic Car Club insurance and are keen to explore similar avenues. I know this as they are my Triumph Club insurers with agreed value policies too.

The guy at the helm is Peter James but I guess you won't get to talk to him, but their main number is: 0121 561 4196.

They currently insure all my cars, they even offered me 7 years NCB on my 2nd car, because that's what I've got on the Zed.

Whoever you end up with, can you make sure they cover imports as well? Sounds obvious, I know, but I just thought I'd make sure...

cheers guys. I'll get onto AON (got their number now) and Footman James.

Baby ice dog, yeah am looking to cover imports too.

The Z Club never had any joy with getting a club insurance scheme Livingstones and Heritage insurance on 0121 246 6060 are companys that advertise in the clubs magazine.

if you don't have any joy in your efforts why not use the club to boost the numbers as we have 625 paid up members

Hello Steve,

I spoke to Livingstones yesterday. I was under the impression that they already had an insurance scheme in place for the Z club. I take it that's not the case then.............

I think the problem I'd have with the insurance companies might be with the varied models of "all" our members, but I'll certainly give that a go. Exactly what models do the 625 members cover?

I get the impression that all they want out of me is to get people to call them for the business, without actually having anythig in place for us................

Thanks

Vijay

Hi Vijay

models that the Z club caters for are 240z,260z,280z, 280zx, z31,z32 and hopefully the 350z.

also I forgot to mention last time that Aon also advertise in the club mag.

the responce you got from Livingstone was simular to the responces that we got from companies when we tried to start a club scheme but this was a few years back and maybe a way forward would be to contact some other clubs to see who they use.

Possible problem may be that we are not a big enough group of car owners for them to be interested

Are there any other clubs out there that cater for Zs that could be used to swell numbers?

Steve,

Would you know roughly how many models of each?? One insurance company I spoke to said that if there was a club with 500+ membes that they would definitely be able to get an underwriter to do something special........................might be worth looking into for all of us.

Let me know,

Cheers

Hello Steve,

Welcome on board!!

Article almost complete .. will try to send it to you tonight, honest!

Hope you enjoyed the show on Sunday, we did, even the missus managed a little enthusiasm (I had paid the price with two days of preceeding shopping, though!)... :D

CheerZ,

John.

Vijay

John - no probs - JUST DON'T DO IT AGAIN!!!! :)

Steve - cheers

Vijay - another one you might try calling are Herts Insurance Consultants..

Right now they only cover imports if you're over 30 (d'oh!), but perhaps for a club scheme they would be able to find an underwriter who would cover us young things..

They arranged the club scheme for the RTOC club, and even agreed that for everyone who called and quoted their membership number, they would pay us (the club) £10 - which is rather good.

I shall dig out the number tomorrow.

And here it is - 01279 506090, at least that's the one on the British Mini Club site (HIC really ought to sort out a website!).

As I say though - we'd have to get it without the 30 age limit (same as Lifesure, then), or it'd be no use to quite a few forum members I think..

Vijay

Breakdown (don't like that word) of Z Club members cars that are registered as of July 24th 2002

54 280ZXs

71 280ZX2+2s

55 Z31s

123 Z32s

not sure of the other 50 odd that are missing

hope this is of of some use

Cheers

I have spoken to AON before and they have two contacts who deals with club insurance(Oliver Parker/Manjit Bains) - but if I remember rightly its for over 30's only, so there might be a problem for us spring chickens! :D

cheers guys. Looks like I'll have a busy Monday on the phone.

Vijay

Trev I think the AON one is for over 24's or 26's. Dont think it is as high as 30.

AY3388 club has insurance with them but he cant get it though because of his age
