Been a smoker for the best part of 20 odd years but got told by the hospital that I need to stop or face a future with the potential of losing a leg  due to arterial problems.

I'ts a no brainer really. So have given up smoking from today, now that my vap kit has arrived.. I've estimated that I'll save around £5K a year, which can go towards my fishing, fish keeping and the zed.

I'm not the sort of person to be smug about it but I have to say that; for the first time in years I don't feel trapped by the cigs and feel free. Didn't really understand the "Choose Freedom" message on fags until now.. :)

Good for you mate.

I've recently given up the habit (16years) and feel so much better for it.

My reasons weren't the same as yours but what ever the reason you won't regret it.

Only issue I've had is that I'm now eating more, therefor putting on more weight, but that's nothing riding to work instead of driving and the gym won't fix.

Cheers mate. Hopefully the vaping wll help me keep the weight off. Saying that, I've demolished a macaroni cheese i had in the fridge from yesterday and having a chinese tonight, so maybe not...lol

As you say though, exercising will keep it in check..

well done mate, and good luck, i stopped boozing and eating so much shit and got into running as you know, feel much better and the running actually makes ya wanna give up the bad habits as it becomes addictive and you always wanna do better

Nice one Dave, i guess it takes a wake up call to have to give up, which makes the decision and determination easier than just wanting to give up :thumbup1:

Can i have your leftover smokes you have stashed in the bedside drawer:tt2:

Good for you Dave - immediate doctor's advice aside, it will certainly benefit your long term health in every way....

.....And you are already aware of the financial benefits!!

I wish you all the best in sticking at it matey - good luck my friend...:clover:

Thanks for all the kind words everyone :thumbup1:

PS Bri. Sorry mate finished me last pack of tabs last night, otherwise you'd be welcome to them.

Well done Dave, I packed in 18 years ago, and glad I did. I do eat too much now though, so my weight went through the roof.....well that's my excuse and I am sticking to it.....lol.
