seems I have a strange noise coming from what seems like the drivers front wing or under the drivers skuttle trim ,sounds like water boiling a flapping or something like that

anyone had this or know what it is i only hear it out side the car and when ive been for a drive ,not from the engine bay as I had the bonnet up

Featured Replies

Its the air filtering up through water trapped in his aiv pods.Tis a bizzare experience the first time you hear it. You can delete them or just pop a little hole in to drain them. Most people delete them.

No. Just delete it though mate it's just an extra complication and mess. So easy to delete and cleans up the bay a lot.

been looking into removing them but looks like I need blanking caps for the down pipes and vac hoses

,,,if I was to dril a hole to let the water out whats the best location for me to drill for a fast fix for now?

Once youve let the water out you wont get the problem again for quite some time, you could undo the hose and let it drain. Its only worth deleting if you have decat pipes or are doing away with the cats, then you can rip out the whole of the AIV system.

do you mean that bottom pipe ? should i do both sides or just the side i can hear the noise,I still have the cats and have no intention of taking them out any time soon

Yes the pipe on the bottom of the black plastic aiv tank, you could do the other side, but mostly pass side seems to be the culprit
