I personally haven't run a quarter mile before, I've looked at those various events and Rwyb Sundays, which are obviously the easiest way to get a go at it. However, I'm guessing from previous pics etc it's damn busy, getting 3/4 runs a day, that sounds boring. One fat long traffic jam.

So what's the deal? Is it always that bad? Is there a quiet time or a way we could get a few of us together on a weekday for a zed only session? Also it says that if your expecting to run +110 mph passes you need a helmet? I'm assuming that it would be wise as that is potentially possible?

Predicting how many runs you get on any given day at the Pod is just impossible.

Depends on weather. When you get there. What event it is. How many stoppages there are for oil on track/debris/accidents etc.

Number of other people etc etc.

I can see how that could be an issue. It's about 2.5 hours away for me so an expensive joinery for a big traffic jam and not even a miles worth of track action lol.

I've managed 8 runs at the pod but 4 or 5 is average in my experience (though listen to Pete he has more). Yes most of the day is spent queuing and as Pete will agree I get a grumpy tw@. But the experience is worth it. Get a mate or two and run together. You can chat while queuing and see what other guys are doing or chat with them too. Just take a bike helmet they won't check :-)

Cheers guys, I'm finding ways to enjoy my car legally and this is on my list of things to try.

You need an A130 Z32bolt...... A lovely long flat straight'ish road....... lol

I used to use a friends driveway as he had a huge house in the country with a long straight driveway........ know anyone with a farm and a nice straight private road?

Watching my Z disintegrate on my driveway!!!

Go for it bolt it looks awesome fun and i know kaeno noel and paul along with bob were enjoying some drag time at XOTB last year.

Even if you dont go for the crazy launches and stuff it looks real good, i will be doing some in mine when i can as i have an EVO die hard friend i need to show up.

Edit: plus if you go with a friend you will unlikely be up against some stupid drag supra/skyline, not that it matters who comes where and its more about the time.

A130 is a great road but often hidden police can ruin a good run (especially with all those chavvy Southend Scooby boys around).

There is an old air field near birch I used to use but the condition of the road is awful.

Actually TOTB on the Saturday boot camp is one of the best deals you will ever get. £75 and you could easily have 20 runs all legal and above board with a lovely little ticket to show how fast you are :-)

it was crap being a spectator as the displays were delayed and you never knew who what unless you knew their name or they ran a super fast time. Iirc you had a smashing chance in the RWD class if it wernt for those kit cars which i thought was a bit sly

The only issue there is bob, is it's the other end of the country and I don't have the ability to trailer the car, be a real shit bag to have to drag it back from there an hour or so isn't the end of the world but the other end of the country gets rather expensive lol.

If we could get Ca few of us together I recon itv would be a laugh.

Well dont be a spectator... join in.

even if you dont have a car to run we will probably need a couple of "pit monkeys/gofers " if Bobs plan all works and we get a five car team.

Both Paul/Mattin111 and me are hoping to run our own cars so wont be able to help Bob much.

I think Danny/Keano will run again and hopefully a couple of others. So some enthusist help with tyre changes/fluid checks . Collecting time slips etc etc would be good

my car is in progress pete remeber!

Id happily give a hand! but when mine is done ill deffo be up for some runs when i can track or strip bolt ;)
