common guys how much and what and were else to get the bracket made, come on turbo snail give it up? cheers

Gonna get the discs and brackets from Dan at DB Power

Calipers will cost any where from £150+ from eBay ect

Discs and brackets and hardware are around £300 from DB

Yeah 4-9 10 are different. You can choose between 320 and 345mm discs, depending on the bracket choice. The 345 disc allows a better ability strength wise on the bracket.

Are you planning on tracking your zed mate? The stock brakes when working are pretty good they just over heat under repeated heavy braking.

100. for the calipers what a steal ill pay someone 100 now for a set , how did you manage that one were you just lucky?

I can put you in touch with someone who will sell you a full set of brembo's from a 350z if you're interested, possibly even has some brembo's from a 370z too.

I can't remember what the going rate is at the moment though.

Zed #2: 1998 Midnight Purple 2+2 NA. (owned 2020 - now)

Zed #1: 1995 Blue Slicktop NA (2013-2015)

About 400 for used 350 brembo calipers. Direct bolt on fit but defiantly more expensive, about 7-800 all in....

I've said it before, and I'll say it again...... There is nothing wrong with the stock 300zxTT set up IF IT'S WORKING CORRECTLY!!!

So for normal/fast road use - if you don't have 500bhp or intend to track your Z - then just spend a modest sum on restoring your OEM brakes to how Nissan intended them to work in the first place!! A set of refurbed calipers (not a busting lot on an exchange basis from Big Redd) and new discs/pads/fluid will have your car stopping perfectly once more; and for a whole lot less cash than a second hand upgraded system, which could also be worn to buggery by the time you fit it!!

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Exactly that Richard. The stock brakes are than capable of locking up the fronts at 60mph mine sets the and off quite regularly when I'm playing. For a road car, the stock brakes well set up and maintained exceed the tyres ability to stop you any faster. There's simply not enough grip to make you slow down faster.

Where big brakes come into effect is when the car goes beyond normal road conditions, 150mph braking repeatedly or simply repeated heavy braking full stop to that end. The heat cannot be processed off and as many find out a few laps often sees you with no brakes.

For me the plan is for my car to become something a little beyond a mobile disco or show queen. It's a car that is and will be driven in anger and put some fun under its belt, a roads, strip and circuit. It will never be a race car but it will need the minerals put up with the stress.

I have had real hassle with my brakes. They were knackered when I got it, replaced by zedworld (£200 or so) Then I went round Croft and they set on fire, new fluid SS lines and discs and pads all round, not good ones unfortunately (£300 or so). Used said Ebay brakes for a week and they were like poppadums bought Black diamonds and yellowstuff pads front only (£400 or so). They now are wrinkly rubbish and were fairly quickly.

Now I obviously have a dodgy calliper or two, I have spiggot rings, I torque all my wheel nuts the same, I wire brushed rust off my hubs, my wheels are ballanced and my toe arms are fine. It is brake judder and I never sit on the brake and I always park in gear with the handbrake off.

I looked at Big Red refurb, it was going to be something like £500 plus new discs and pads afterwards.

Second hand I don't fancy, Car Mad's K Sports were not a lot cheaper than new ones, Wilwood are about £800, I have decided that when I can its getting, 356mm D2 floating discs up front and 330mm K sports on the back. That'll be silly money at about £2500 but I am fed up, my car is only getting more powerful not less and brakes are important.

Just never had decent brakes on a zed. Ive had replacment calipers and two modles. Then i get into my mrs pug 208 and fill safe driving that fast cas i no i can stop.and you dont think will it stop so no play for me.

Really....?

You can buy a pair of their rebuilt OEM calipers on an exchange basis for circa £200 - £250.....

Then a set of front and rear Brembo/Mintex OEM replacement discs/pads can be bought for little more than the £200 mark all in on Ebay....

Steve does make a point about extremely hard use though. Whilst the 300zx was built from the ground up as a 150+mph car, the front discs are on the small side compared to more modern machinery; so it is no surprise that they do not dissipate heat too well during prolonged stopping from 3 figure speeds.
