I've had a flocking idea for my glovebox.

The glovebox on the Z is a hard and cheap looking plastic. As they're now getting on, the finish is not quite 'showroom' and I was thinking about getting it flocked so that it feels a looks a little nicer. When I mean the glovebox, I mean the plastic liner. My old E90 M-Sport had one and it felt quite nice.

Wondering if anyone's had this done before?

Would do mine in black, but possibly dark grey?

my mate just flocked a few parts of his car says its fairly easy to do yourself as long as it something that's not on permanent view or in constant use

Took my glovebox apart and currently have the inside bin being flocked. I had considered a light grey to match the dash areas, but plumped for black to make it look a little less obvious and susceptible to marking. I'll get some pics up when I get it back. The quality of the samples I saw was first-rate!

Should look something like this!

Amazing, you send it off and your car becomes LHD and a completely different model! ;)

I look forward to the results Si. It's on my list, but so far down that I can't even see it! I tick one item off and add another 6. I blame you. I never went in for OEM standard in previous cars, but you've converted me!

Si has that effect on a lot of members Al I think its because deep down we know he is right and has the Z to prove it.

Not really the most awe-inspiring modification in the world, but it gives the cabin a slightly more up-market feel. I've always felt that the inside of the glovebox felt a little low-grade. This has improved it no-end.

Old glovebox bin....

Strip down the bin - all screws and rubbers removed.

Detroit is a shit hole, you wouldn't catch me driving my Z there! Has a small pocket map of France in it and some used Brittany Ferries' tickets!
