Hopefully doing a boost leak test Thursday, is there a how to guide? I've forgotten how to find the howto section on the site.

I remember reading that 5psi is enough to find leaks, but am I able to use the gauge in the car, or do I need another? and should I put my ignition on for the boost controller or does that not make a difference?

Any other tips and advice is welcome as always.

Bung your maf up with the bung, then apply air from a compressor into the inlet tract. Don't panic if it doesn't instantly show a pressure there's a lot of it equally I'm sure the engine can settle in the wrong place allowing the air to pass through to the exhaust.

Just push through a marked 5psi from the compressor and listen for the hisses.

Pressurising above 5psi can lead to seal damage as unless you've done a full Pcv system delete the cam covers and further the engine oil galleries will be receiving the pressure too.

excellent thanks guys, anybody know what size the piping is? I ought some red stuff off ebay years ago but it was huge, never bothered after that.

three inch.. just take off the front panel (two bolts) and undo the MAF (one screw) and measure its diameter for an exact size.... should take you all of 10 min.. :)

A few pics of my set up today, I use the small vacuum pipe to the fuel damper as a reference point for captive pressure, I do not use the pressure gauge as any guide, if you have a good leak anyway you will not build any pressure, don`t try and keep it under 5 psi either and never had any seal issues.
