I'm back off holiday the day before, so it should be ok...might be a bit busy though, if it's as busy as they intend.

This is coming along nicely. Its actually a free event to browse around. I'm going to contact them and see if we can have a club stand if enough members are interested?

Hello Stephen

I'm not sure why the original invitation hasn't reached you, please accept

my apologies. Below is the original invitation along with an information

flyer attached.

Dear Club Coordinator

I am delighted to invite your club to participate in the inaugural

Bournemouth Wheels Festival. We are holding a

Classic Vehicle Pageant in the heart of the festival right on the seafront

between Boscombe and Bournemouth piers. Dedicated display space is available

to invited car clubs, bike clubs or small commercial vehicle clubs who

register with us in advance. The Pageant will also feature arena shows and a

trade village. Each club will be offered a designated club pitch appropriate

for the number of vehicles attending with enough space for a small club

infrastructure such as a gazebo or information unit. Each participant will

also receive a complimentary commemorative car sticker. In addition we will

be holding a concours competition to include categories such as 'Best in

Show', 'vehicle we would most like to take home' and 'best club display'

etc.

Participants can also enjoy the evening entertainment culminating in a

spectacular firework display each night.

As club coordinator could I ask that you simply respond to this email with

the following information:

Your full club name

Contact details including e-mail address and telephone number

Type of infrastructure you envisage bringing e.g. gazebo, trailer,

hospitality unit.

The days you intent to participate

Estimated number of vehicles attending

All club applications must be submitted by Friday 25th April

Once the information above has been received I will ask individual

participants can book their places via email to me. I will then issue an

E-Ticket which each participant simply prints out and brings with them on

the day so that our staff can correctly direct them on their arrival, this

ticket will be exchanged for a wristband and complimentary goodie bag on the

day.

Additional information is included on the attached flyer, please feel free

to distribute this flyer to members of your club and if you have any further

queries please do not hesitate to contact me using any of the methods below.

I look forward to welcoming you to this exciting new event on the motoring

calendar.

Kind regards

James Hodgson

So I need any one who's interested to contact me ASAP for numbers and booking.

im going down with a friend hopefully, not in my zed though...still off the road as i dont have time

Looks like my kinda event that one! I'll be out of the country again when it's on though. :( It would have been a 'definite' from me otherwise! Bit closer and likely cheaper than Goodwood!

It's supposedly the first of an annual event. Sadly though as far as the club and a display is concerned today was that. Cut off has been reached.

Il be there as a spectator and to take photos, sack it il catch the bus in and have a few pints as well.

That sucks was hoping I would be able to see a few of other people's Zeds. Been staying away for work loads ATM so mine is close to getting mot'd but seems like so far from it at the same time

I'm now around so will probably pop down for a gander - maybe in the Zed also! If you spot a silver one in a random car park...

  • Author

Il be there anyway as I live there, or at least less than 10 minutes away so if anyone does intend to pop down just let me know, I won't be in the zed because as pointed out we missed the boat.

Down and about here and it's pretty cool with the old Ford's a d the formula 3 cars

My bad they are old formula one cars. It was alright but never saw the pier jump or the monster trucks as I went home before the pier jump(film it if you see it tomorrow?) And was distracted by a cold cider when the monster trucks were running

Pier jump footage....

I missed most of the event, was back late Saturday, busy Sunday and it began to drizzle today so didn't see much of it. Saw some beautiful super cars, such as Carrera GT, Enzo, Mclaern F1 and both the new SLS and the 1950s version, along with various other Lambos, ferraris etc.

I could hear the monster trucks from about a mile away but her feet were aching by then. Grabbed a bratwurst from the market and mooched on home.

Big buzz locally as there's been F1 and Lemon cars driving up and down the over cliff. It's been declared a success by the council, who have stated this FREE event has the go ahead again next year!!!

Awesome. Next year I'll probably book a room as its a long day with all the walking. Then a night out in the town. Also the zed should be up and running by then so I'll have it with me !
