If any of you have external speakers/boom box wired up to your PC/Table/Phone whatever, then I emplore you to play this on FULL VOLUME! I can absolutely guarantee that it will get your trouser snake wriggling!

The static rev is a little annoying, but you just wait for the drive-by. PLEASE PLAY THIS FULL VOLUME off a sound system - you'll truly thank me!

You see, I love the newer stuff too, but for different reasons. Having been in a Gallardo and being a huge fan of its design, it's the modern day supercar I'd shoot for. I borrowed a friend's Ferrari California when I was in Missouri last year and I did like it, great fun to drive, but I questioned its physical appearance, especially from the front.

I used to be a bit of a Ferrari fan, but the stuff they've brought out over the past 10 years or so really has been pretty strange looking (in a non-attractive way). They certainly aren't sexy like they were in the pre-2000s ie, F355, GTO, F40 etc. The Gallardo has a beautiful shape and when I first saw the Aventador at Supercar Sunday in Los Angeles back in June, I went crazy for it. From EVERY angle it looks awesome. Some cars, you can pick out an angle where they don't quite look right, with this, as with the Gallardo, it looked perfect from every aspect.

To me, this is the modern day Countach with its rakish lines and overwhelming presence (and I generally can't stand black wheels either!). I stood here looking at this for quite some time actually from every angle. When the owner drove it away, the sounds was just fabulous!

LOL - that Aventador's wheels are just bigger versions of those found on the Ford Focus ST.....

I always liked the Diablo myself - it was a smoother and faster upgrade to the Countach IMO; and still the Lambo that would grace my own dream garage...... I like the look of the Gallardo but, having driven one, I was left disappointed. If I was in the market for such a car, I'd pick its cheaper and (some say) better cousin, the Audi R8 v10!!

The Aventador is a proper mental supercar though - but would I buy one if I had the cash....? Hmmm, probably not:wink:

+1 on the r8 i was lucky enough to go to epsom audi sport showcase and they litterally tossed me the keys to the new v10 plus and said see you in half hour!!! i loved every second of it, it was a little firm more suited to the track than british roads but the noise.... oh my god the noise..... it was something else!!! it had the s-tronic gearbox and the downchanges in sport mode were savage! I was driving along changing from 3rd to 2nd just for the noise people must have thought i was mad.... or showing off ha!

1 hell of a car and definatly one for the 'if i win the lottery' list

I've driven an R8 too, the earlier V8 one. Out of that and the Gallardo, whilst the R8 was awesome, it just didn't leave me feeling 'special' like the Lamborghini did. Having experienced both, there's no question I'd go for the Gallardo, if only for the looks. The R8 looks cool, but kinda reminds me of a flabby TT. Actually, the friend that had the R8, he sold it for a Gallardo! Just a more awesome feeling in the Gallardo.

I do get that - the Lambo has to feel special in comparison given the price difference and badge kudos.....

......But I guess I was expecting better from the Gallardo; given its looks, badge and reviews. The manual gearbox in the Gallardo was pretty much pointless for every day use too - which is why (if it were my money) I'd save a few £££s and by the R8 v10 with the sequential auto 'box..... I do kind of get the "Flabby TT" analogy too - so would have to be careful with the colour selection on the R8.

Soon as I saw the aventador I was In love, the size, details and sound are incredible. To see a picture doesn't do justice one of those cars you need to see and hear in real life, preferably on a flyby.

Well the Gallardo is about to be replaced by the Huracán as Lamborghini's mainstream model. Which

manufacturer would give you that sense of occasion when you decided to go out for a drive in it? If

someone asked you what you drive and you replied an Audi or Lamborghini, I would bet that you

would have to qualify your Audi response by saying it was an R8...

Project 1547 - Out of the Blue

She's so fine, there's no tellin' where the money went - Simply irresistible.

some of the newer models are ok i have had the opportunity to take a ride in a 570-4 superleggera and had the new Gallardo E-gear for prom and tbh as quick as they are i feel it lacked the flare and passion as the older ones did

'Ok'? LOL I bet you wouldn't turn one down if it were offered to you. ;) They're pretty awesome machines and that's a recognised fact and TBH, everyone says that the newer the car, the less the flare and the passion. When the Countach came out, everyone harked back toe Miura. I do agree to a certain extent with you, but the Countach is actually a pig of a car. It looks and sounds great. It's supposed to be absolutely horrid to drive though. Strange uncomfortable driving position, unreliable, poor vision. You could say that's part of their charm, but I dunno about that.

pounditupdated-1.gif Thank you !!

Alan.......

i probably wouldnt turn one down tbh LOL but i do see where your coming from mate as i just remembered a old top gear episode where clarkson found it hard to park one i just think IMO the older ones seem to be styled better and look better but there are some nice looking new ones reventon and aventador

The thing with the Countach is that it's every kid's dream car, along with the F40. It was and still is a poster-car as it's a nuts car and it looks amazing, but is it pretty? That's questionable in my opinion. I think their 'prettiest' car is the Gallardo. It might not be the fastest most expensive and most exhilarating supercar in the world, but I believe it is one of the prettiest and I really do mean that. It harks back to Ferrari classics like the F355 with is sexy shape and lines. It has such a gorgeous pert appearance to it, like a pair of breasts from an athletic 18 year old college girl. You just wanna go and play with it!
