Starter motor?

Its doesnt start just spins engine over,

:mac1::rofl::rofl:

Its definitely not a starter motor. Yes normally if immobiliser doesnt work that it doesnt give fuel pr spark nut not in this situation.

frist thing to do is pick up the phone and explain to the bloke of whom you boght it and kindly aske if that has ever happened to him? and say i just need to know so as i can attain weather its an intermitant fault for a start. then may i ask how have you checked weather you have fuel checked the clyinders and ptu.secondly diconect the battery for an hour chrge it up on a trikle over night and try again. it cant be the starter otherwise the car wont turn over it would just click.

Flooded............

and that is one of the possibility but why... (yes if the battery isn't strong enough to start it, it could flood just turning it over).

I would do as has already been suggested to check the battery.. it might just be the terminals but you could need a new one.

Does it start OK if you jump it?

Think you need to do a full PM and Service on the car as well... I wonder who is/near London that you could take it to?

I can do evrything my self but its a bif question what could it be. Its really really strange.

Battary is brand new from the shop and its perfect qondition.

I swapped cas, ptu I checked sparks and fueling. All this is ok, how this is even possible ???

his not come back . as much from doing silly things and god i do them all the time, i do hope his absence proves this the case before he spends loads a money and time.

great call Mr Wilson.

?

No guys gearbox is in park posision. To me sounds like a miracle will start the car lol

You need to take it out of Park before you try starting it. Put it in neutral :)

If it was an auto, and not in park, it wouldn't turn over.

Mine had to be in neutral, not park, before it would turn over...

may be a silly question but have you checked all fuse boxes...

It's a good point, the one likely to cause this issue would be the fuel pump fuse on the far right, but as he has confirmed he has fuel, it won't be that.

Could you tell us exactly what troubleshooting you have done so far and exactly how you did it?

Ok the symptoms are a very broad as a consequence you will need to do some more testing to narrow down what is going on.

So the best thing is to start all over again as you need to follow a set routine with fault finding and not miss anything out or your tests will account for nothing.

So the non start issue could be due to

lack of spark

Remove a coil pack and use a spare spark plug in the end with the body of the plug touching the engine crank over and watch for a good spark, if not check the coil pack for 12v supply and check the ptu and crank angles sensor connections.

lack of fuel

Check fuel tank for actual fuel level, you would not be the first to get caught by this.

When cranking the engine you will need to know if fuel is been fed to the fuel rail, depresurise the rail and loosen the fuel line from the filter, attach a temporary pipe and pass it into a bottle or similar, crank the engine and watch or a strong flow of fuel, if no fuel then the fuel pump or the circuit needs checking

faulty afm

Try unplugging the air flow meter, they can fault in a certain way that will actually stop the engine running, so see if it will fire up when unplugged

faulty timing/ belt issue

If the cam belt has moved/ slipped / broken it will not start, check the cambelt is actually not broken, ( turn the engine over whilst an assistant watches the cam rotate through the oil filler hole.

If the cam belt is not broken then it could of jumped/ slipped so a static timing test would be a good idea, remove the right hand plastic cam belt cover and rotate the engine until the cam markings are roughly in line with the back plate, then check the bottom pulley it should be on tdc ( 0 deg)

If the timing is good and so is the fuel, spark and afm then the engine should start, if it still refuses to start then the ecu may have an issue, although doubtful as spark and fuel would be effected.

Often non starting can be compounded by failed starts flooding the engine as said by others so make sure the plugs are dried out by removing and actually cleaning them.

Some where through the fault finding list you should come across the problem, having diagnostic equipment does help a lot as does experience of the often temperamental characteristics of the zed engine.

Good luck
