"Simply Japanese" - Beaulieu Motor Museum - Joint southern area meet

Simply Japanese - 3 August 2014

-

Joint South West / South Central / South East event!

Following the success of the Haynes Motor Museum meet that I managed to organise in a week and last year's Beaulieu meet, Steve (z32bolt), Howard (bigh), Terry and myself are organising what could be one of the biggest southern meets the club has seen for many years for the summer of this year! This is aimed at the South West, South Central and South East regions, but of course, this is open to EVERYONE and we'd love to see as many attend as possible!

Beaulieu Motor Museum is holding its yearly 'Simply Japanese' meet again this year - Steve did do something similar last year and got a good number there, some 30 cars - due to the anniversaries of the Z32 (25 years) and the S30 (45 years) we want to make this a joint region and multi club event and get the numbers up further!

Other than than Japfest at CC, we really don't have much going on south of the M4 in terms of large meets. This will be a great event if you're visiting solo, with another half, or with family!

We will be attending this show as 300zx.co.uk, but also hope to have support, as we often do, from the UK Zclub, 350 and 370 owners club. I have spoken with the event organiser and have arranged that we will have our own 'Z' stand, in addition, Gary is also supplying us with a new club banner. I am also proposing that we try and get some sort of blurb into one of the classic car magazines too!

There is a cost, but it's very small. £10 per person, or £5 for children. TBH, that's the same price as a pub meal!

Beaulieu is a great venue, the area around it is stunning, being in the New Forest, the museum itself is fantastic and there's plenty to do there for everyone - in essence, a great day out for all. I understand you get access to the Abbey, the museum and there are events for kids to do, birds of prey on display etc. If possible, later on down the line, I may try to get a pro-photographer along (my neighbour in actual fact) for those of you before the show who want to get some really good hi-res images of your cars - there may be a small cost to this also.

Some photos of the Haynes meet.

Here's a snapshop of the site with attractions for those that have never been before - it's vast!

We aim to have various convoys to meet up at a pre-determined venue before a cruise to the event, I will post this live on other Z forums over the coming months.

Hope to see you there! Please add your names to the local events section which myself, Steve, Terry and Howard will be managing and eventually they'll find their way onto here!

Jimmer and I will of course be coming down from the South West area, along with Steve and Howard's region and also Terry's region.

We'd love to build this event to over 40 cars as there were 30 last year! The aim would be to hit 45, the milestone of the 240z! It would be epic to make it the biggest turnout of any of the other clubs - this thread is up early to give members enough notice! :)

Time moves fast and I've got a lot to do. Empty shelves waiting for parts and a car sat there taunting my inability to get in with it. Time is both plentiful and also running out quickly. As the say spring creeps up on you

Mine needs a new strut top and that's about it! I have nothing to worry about. :)

  • 5 months later...

Just reviving this and starting to push, this little gem In the calendar is fast approaching, sneaking up us. Let start getting some proper numbers last year had a damn good turn out.

I really want to be there but I have a lot of work to do on the car before hand

You've got basically a month and a half mate, doesn't need to be a show winner(we had 3 zeds in for best in show out if 10 selected cars of the whole 1000 cars on site! Bloody good going, two from this club) it's the turning up and enjoying a bloody nice day out that counts, very relaxed family friendly show.

I've bumped it up already Si, but yeah would be worth you adding what's needed.

I will call Beaulieu on Monday for an update. There should be a registration pack I think.

Im glad this thread was bumped as im now working at the Chichester festival on the 3rd Aug, just realised the date :scared:, so cant make it, when the thread was started in Jan i had nothing in at all for that weekend

Oh you are a boobie Graham! Fancy not making a note of this in your diary! :p

I did make a note of it lol, but when the work came in about a month a go i didnt think about a clash, work has been so poor this year that i was pleased to get something in. Im gutted though, cos its the first show after Coventry that my car will be seen painted.

Well don't worry. I have just been on the phone to Richard Smith and it appears my Z is going to be in the paint shop the weekend that the 25th show is on in Coventry! Need to speak to the paint shop to try and get the darn thing in before!!!

we all meeting up at tescos again then cruzing down ?

Makes logical sense I think. Plus that drive in is winner.

Indeed - I hope you can change your paint shop dates Si; it would be good to have your car at Coventry.....

.....But if not, I hope you can make it as a spectator....:clover:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

I've managed to bring it forward a day! I was due to collect the car on the 18th which is the Friday, but I have things I need to do. Managed to get it so it'll be ready to collect on the Thursday giving me 2 full evenings which 'should' be enough.

  • Author

No I didn't, I was in meetings all day. Tomorrow I will give them a buzz.

Right guys! I have been speaking with Caroline at Beaulieu and we'll soon be needing final numbers as she needs to know how big our club plot will need to be. If I can have final names by the end of the month, that would be great.

In terms of booking, this needs to be done independently either over the phone, via their website or on the day at the gate.

We have a number of cars from the 350z club attending also and possibly a few from the Zclub - hoping to push 30-35 cars in total, which is a healthy number.

Just checked in on the 350z crew and it looks like we'll have over 40 cars at this rate!
