Ive always had the Bosch as for the price they do the job BUT my only grip about them is anywhere near the late 2nd or 3rd year into there life they just fall down dead..its as iff there timed in manufacture to do it. ive had other more expensive batterys that last upto 5 years or more infact i have one now that i had on my zed in 2006 and it still holds a charge,no sticker on it but its deffo not a Bosch.

I got a 75ah with a five year guarantee from Halfrauds its a japanese make and I cant remember what its called. But with a five year guarantee you can't beat it.

I had a bosch with a 3 year year guarantee and that died as znut said after 2.5 years and could I find the paperwork for it.....

There are few batteries with right polarity for the zed and this was one of them. I think the guy said it was a 370z battery but it suits the zed if you other things using power

LOL - me, actually!!

I bought a cheap battery from Allparts (or somewhere similar) for my old red ZX and it gave no issues in the years that followed! And on the subject of batteries, Julia's rav-4 still has the original one and it is knocking on 8 years old now...... It did have to be "rescued" by the RAC on Sunday though, as it had gone flat after a week of standing still and I drained it by starting it the once to move it around on the driveway....

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

lol well get with the current affairs and become a costcoian!! man 8 years it certainly served its purpose. as long as the car is driven at least a few days of the week should be no issues however standing still and not being driven or started well, i guess three years did quite well lol.. it was recharged once though maybe a solar panel shaped t tops to replace the glass t tops and have it charge the battery...... :D

Exide make there own batteries, Bosch are made by Varta. Out the 2 i would go for an Exide, if however you can get hold of a Yausa then go for it!!

Probably wouldn't do much good if you could anyway.

I think they've changed it in the last couple of years but they used to print receipts on paper using a heat printer. Which means within a couple of years its faded so much you just have a blank bit of paper.

Have had to point this out multiple times when getting professional tools replaced and they want to see the receipt! (they often have trouble understanding that the tools last longer than their receipts)

that is true i have had that problem too lol usualy just make a copy or take a picture. and it only happens to the ones you freaking need years later!!

Buy the battery from Costco then and bring it back in 3.5 years when it starts to fail - they will refund you ;) They sell Bosch batteries by the way :)

is there a product code or model ask because at halfrauds they tend to 'just sell you shit off the shelf' more of a yea yea thats the one thatll do and not have a clue!!

thanks

Just for something different I put in an ABX AGM battery about 3 1/2 years ago.

It's a dry cell (or absorbed glass mat, AGM) type. It cost £99 & came with a 5 year warranty!

I had the car off the road for well over a year with the battery still connected so obviously was completely dead when I tried to start it. I thought I'd better try and charge it before I took it back under warranty, so stuck a battery optimizer on it. I didn't hold out much hope as it was registering 2.5 volts when I started:sad:

It took about a week but the bloody thing charged fully! Couldn't believe it and it's still holding it's charge after a couple of weeks of sitting on my drive unused!

I'm rather impressed.

Stuck a new battery in mine on Saturday.

Well I know the guy said it's the one for a 350/370 so if you go to Halfraudes ask for that I paid £104 for it with a five year Guarantee

First thing I did when I got home was copy the till receipts so they don't fade !

I'm going to give that old girl a go as I also need a new battery, cheers for the input :)

well i went to halfords to buy a battery asked for a bosch they didn't have any, asked for the yausa and they didn't have any. I then said ill just take one for the 350z and surprise surprise they didn't have any!! girl said to bring in the old one and they will see what they can do. so the next day i take the battery back to halfords and when the manager tried to test the batt it didnt work, he tried 3 times and nothing just gave errors! so he said id have to bring it in the car and he will test it in the car to see if its charging or not. He then said that i was sold the wrong battery and that hes surprised its lasted this long!!

so im going back on sat to see what they will do, the specific battery they have for the zx is £150!! cant remember what it was called but he said that he will 'sort something out' current price for the one i was mis sold is at 99 quid. hoping that i just pay the difference and get a new battery for 50 quid!

roll on sat......

I'm going to give that old girl a go as I also need a new battery, cheers for the input :)
