Lil Stevie sent me a din shelf (not a zed one) and I purchased myself a CD player to replace my one that broke.... Below my old cd play was one of those BOSE speaker things which I planned to replace with the din shelf. Here's the photos :-) not bad for just over and hours work.

As it was before (not a good pic but it's the only one I could find lol

Had no holes for the brackets (I only had a screwdriver set to do this job  )

Holes, made using a tiny flat bladed screwdriver and then made bigger with a screw :)

Which way did you screw the screws from? Outside in or inside out?

You should have taken the clock out and cleaned it while you had the centre panel out - you could grow a crop of potatoes in the dirt! ;)

Which way did you screw the screws in? HU looks pretty decent.

I know, just wanted confirmation - didn't want you shouting 'GODAMMIT THAT HURT' everytime you tried to put something in there! haha

Good mod though, you should try and screw them in from the other side if you can. Kinda wished my Z had a little more cubby space. The glove box isn't really accessible whilst you're driving and the centre arm rest is full of CDs and porno DVDs!

I certainly did bud.Pop round when you have 5mins so we can have a chat:)

Instead of shortening the screws, why not try and reinstall them from the inside of the cubby-hole. I'm sure with a small screwdriver and a bit of patience you could do it mate...

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:
