I have 9.5j 18" 38offset on my rears 285 tyre and they sit flush with wheel arches

285s whats the biggest tyre you can safely mount on a 9.5 rim

They are Axe CS Lites

what socks and springs you running

I take it the ride is harsh be honest. I had coilovers on a prelude and it was a bit harsh

dont get me wrong any after market coil overs is going to be a firmer ride ... but its not a go kart thats for sure .. i used to have some tein ones .. well they was more suited to race track

the minsters are really nice

I would like them but know I would end up taking them off am going 40mm lower springs with yellow koni damper and sure that would be a little less harsh for me I have to say I have not driven a z with uprated dampers and spring yet the stock set up feel like the car is all over the road and don't handle very well am hoping the koni and springs will change this

The offset is ok. 35mm offset would give a flush fit without the risk or arch fouling, which is the same as fitting a 5mm spacer to those wheels.

You might be surprised. A Decent Aftermarket complete coilover setup can offer a better ride than a set of lowering springs and dampers.

A lot lowering spring kits can offer a harsh ride as they are designed to go on stock spec dampers, which are at risk from bottoming out due to the reduced ground clearance, so they jack up the spring rates to avoid it. Those that dont jack up the spring rates cause bottoming out on bumps which makes the ride even worse.

A lot of coilovers use overly harsh spring rates as they are designed around track or drift use, but the Meister-R's use a decent spring rate for the road and offer a good range of adjustable damping and ride height adjustability.. A lot of members have them, see if there is anyone local you could have a test drive with.

I see your what your saying. I had lower spring on my prelude and was great but I fitted coil overs and removed them after 2 weeks and my mates evo has them and its harsh to so am really put off but yes be good to try some not sure there is any local 300 that have them

I agree - I have Meister Rs as well; and the ride is firm but still compliant. Plus you have about 32 settings from hard to soft, to chose from!!

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

The Meiser-R's use a 8/6 kg/mm spring rate on the 300zx which is a good road setup, but those from places like K-sport, D2, Megan Racing ..etc use an overly harsh 12/14 kg/mm spring rate, and its the same for certain models of High-end brands too which are more suited to the track than the road.
