Been on the lookout for a sub 2k zed to re shell my current one and come over this :

Apart from been 3k and in need of a paint job it looks good but I spotted something

very rare and likely not so many people even know about.

Can you spot it ?

Give you a clue this is a series 4/5 zed that had a few additions to earlier versions.

Is that a button just to the right of the gear selector on the console itself? (Not the normal JDM Power rocker, the thing to the right of that).

I am going to say the cruise control buttons - they are on a stalk on the left of the steering column.....

Richard:cool:

That's a bit effin eagle-eyed :D

Yup - I noticed the cruise switch on the right pod, but with the airbag, the control switches had to be elsewhere other than the steering wheel. And if you look carefully, you can just see the toggle sticking out:wink:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Well cruise stalk was a standard option for an airbag wheeled car, and not that rare

Digital ac was also an option on the latter cars, but i've never seen one

The clock has been replaced with something else

My series 4 doesn't have cruise and it has an airbag, far as I knew the digital aircon, and cruise were options.

I meant standard available optional extra, mine doesnt have it either but i've seen a few that do

Bullseye !

The series 4 has airbags and cruise was option extra, Zeds that had it have an extra stock as they couldn't be on the main wheel.

Yay - I win.....

.....And that is a nice upgrade too, if you swap to an after-market steering wheel, but want to retain your cruise control. I think Si has retro-fitted the US style cruise switch on his car!!

Actually Lee, that looks quite a clean car inside mate; are you buying that one....?

Actually Richard, I retro fitted a JDM one. US versions had the CC and indicator stalks the other way around. I pestered Jon at Z1 for ages to try and get me a RHD CC stalk in for me and he came up trumps! Pretty sure he has them listed on their website now. I fitted it last year. It was a brand new stalk and cost me about £60 from memory.

A standard option? Either it was standard or it was an option! lol

Actually, to find a 95+ with CC is quite rare. Standard on US cars, but a cost option on JDM cars and most actually came without it, I don't even think Roobarb's fully loaded 99-spec has it.

In addition, not too sure what mean about the clock?

They do have them on Z1 as Si says....I am going to get myself one even though I don't have cruise I can pretend .

I know I have an opening in the steering wheel shroud for it and I also believe that this 'opening' should have a blank or a bung fitted to cover/tidy it up but I have never seen one.

EDIT : Actually on looking again it's a tad cheaper on CZP at 50 USD.

I would say that the Digital AC on a series 4/5 is rarer than the AC cruise stalk, although both are rare.

Standard optional extra, as in it was available as an optional extra to anyone who bought the car and apeared in the standard catalogue as an available optional extra

As oposed to custom, aftermarket, or special eddition

Flaming granma police :)

[sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

My series 4 had a blank, i removed it and fitted a second indicator stalk to control my stereo volume

Of note, the series 4 and later steering colum shroud is a different shape to the early one

And the indicator stalk has a bend in it so you can see it over the airbag wheel

[sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

so what series is my car ? , it a 93 jap auto TT, it has a cruise control stalk and an airbag steering wheel , seatbelts are fitted to the b pillar not the door as ive seen on others , I also have digital aircon and directional control

cheers
