People where not saying it won't fit.

What I was saying is that you will now have tyre pinch and your handling will suffer.

It's not about what it looks like, it's about the job it does.

drives fine I had 265s on a Porsche boxster I had it to had a 8.5j and never had a issue as you can see the tyre is no bulging over atall the 245 looked like it was stretched like it was to narrow

Looks good. Tyre walls that are flat like that look so much better than stretched tyres.

wheels fit rite on perfect not issue atall

does look like it fits better as you say side wall looks flat now with the 245 the tyre look very stretched and at a angle

Looks like you will get a "bit" of rim protection from the wider one so less likely to get kerb damage from a light brush with a kerb

yes with the 245s on when you lay the wheel on the floor its hits the wheel metal on floor like you say with the 265 it no longer does that

Agreed - and at only 2cms wider, I would not envisage any adverse handling issues either.....

.....Good - that will also add protection to your rims in the event you get a bit too close to the kerb when parking....

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

That's not flat, its clearly bulging but It doesn't look too bad. Different tyre brands actually have different section widths so could look worse with a different brand.

You wont be able to make full use of that wider cross section though, the contact patch will have greater change under load because of the increased sidewall flex you will get from tyres wider than the rims.

here is more pic wheels on car now

That's what I wanted, I knew they would psychically fit, I just wanted to know how they would sit in the arches naturally. They're quite pinched in on a stock 350 which looks crap IMO.

Looks like those offsets fill the z32 arches pretty well.

yes the off set does keep them pushed out am lowering it soon as its sitting way to high so will post pics then for you to see plan on getting the arches rolled to

don't think it looks bulging atall to be fair

so after a good drive the tyre seem fine. how wide can you go on a 8j rim its got 225 on at the mo

Don't go any wider than 235 Dan - not just in view of the rim width, but any wider than 235 on the front and you could suffer from tramlining on our crappy road surfaces mate:wink:

my bmw z3 used to tramline like a bitch hated it. well as you can see I have gone to the max on the rear with 265 on 8.5j so ye saying 235 on 8j. its a shame as I have a set of 245 35 18 of the rear I could of used

Close Dan - but 235/40/18 is nearer to the stock rolling circumference. And a better match to your 265/35 rears:wink:

Although those 245s will probably fit, I'd not do it myself!!

I see your point. shame as there just sitting there with loads of thread wasted

No, You have gone over the maximum on a 8.5j (255) :p

Anyway, for an 8j rim the recommended width is 225-235, and the maximum width is 245.

What is the exact size, make, speed rating and remaining tread of the 245s Dan? If you're lucky, you should be able to sell them on mate!
