Kent is quite nice but it really gets nice if u go though Hampshire, dorset, Somerset, Devon and Cornwall. But there's nice places up north too.

Depends what you want, staying in the new forest is a great idea. Just over an hour to London mild climate fantastic countryside and less than half hour to the British countryside and Jurassic coast.

A nice cottage in the Cotswolds. Something so very quintessentially British.

Have you not been to England then????

The whole country from the air is green really. Quite a contrast from the view when you come south from Madrid and drop down for Malaga aeropuerto.

Im a fairly frequent flyer to Malaga as I have a place in Fuengirola which I love . Coming in to East midlands airport all you see below you is the typical patchwork of green England.

Come to Nottingham... home of Robin Hood who roamed the woods to the north of the city.... according to the legend!!! There is still some ancient oak forest but the majority of it is newish pine forest.

You can stay in forest log cabins too.

Yeah but it's grim up north Pete, if he wanted green and rain we would send him to Scotland :D

LOL!!!

Im not up norf mate......................

Nottingham is in the Midlands

And we havent been flooded like the south!!

Firstly it is winter lol, rain happens but weren't not really geared up or used to it like yourselves ;) secondly if I can't touch the sea it's north mate, southamptons north. :clown:

Scotland's not up north it's Scotland. A separate country lol, by that argument you could claim Scotland's not up north compared to Santas house :clown:

In all seriousness though Warwickshire and Nottingham have some really nice bits and history. I have family up near Oban in Scotland, it's fairly remote and wild. Lovely though. I don't actually mind the north of England or Scotland there's a faire few bits in the middle I can't be doing with though, Leeds and Birmingham being two of them. London however is by far my least favourite place in the UK. I'm most at home down in the south west, as I can understand everyone and generally just find myself more at home there.

People always say were lucky to live here in East Dorset and parts of it are lovely but bmth and Poole (my new house is between the two, literally the main road divides them) have some really grotty bits and it's getting busier and busier and more expensive as a weekend sati lite of London. We plan in the next five years to move either this side into west hants(I'm at my in laws in the new forest) or preferably into west Dorset/Somerset. Which is closer to where I lived as a child in rural Dorset.
