Well, got a letter today to say I've been caught speeding, so after umpty years driving I'm gonna get done for it!! Been stopped a few times but managed to girlie my way out of it but this, apparently, was a manned camera. Didn't see him. Funniest thing was, my other half has also just been caught. We will probably both have to do one of those speed awareness courses. We will be at the back like them grumpy old gits off the muppets!!

Tut tut, naughty girl

First time I got caught speeding was the day my old employer gave me my new lwb jumbo transit. I did try to argue with the copper but to be honest he caught me fair and square as i was well over the speed limit!!

I got tugged and breathalised tonight on my way home from Mr. Dent's place.....lol, it was after 11pm. The copper said one of my lights wasn't working, although when he checked again they were both magically working again. Just the excuse to pull me and give me the breath test at this time of year. He mentioned my rear number plate being highly illegal (which it is) but didn't ticket me for it, and was a rather nice officer really, the first words he said " first things first, nice car". Asked the usual if I had been drinking, if I had been in my Astra I would have said yeah and then told him it was tea later on, well it is a stupid question isn't it? Have you had a drink tonight sir? Well of course I have officer, if one didn't drink one would die!!! The best part for me though is when they ask me to join them in their car and I say I can't......pmsl. But I was in the Zed, so had to restrain myself.....as my rear numberplate is highly illegal, my front numberplate is in my front window, and my rear centre panel lights up blue.....lol. My speedo doesn't currently work, and neither does my horn, all these were going to be sorted, but Keith dragged me out on one final run for this Sunday to a cruise by Cruise North Wales in honour of Paul Walker, so I brought her out for one last winter run. Was rather icey on the way home too, so be careful out there.

It's that time of year I'm afraid.

I got caught about 18 months ago, unmarked car in a layby behind a bush. Booked me as I entered a 30 from a 60 and didn't brake rather coasted on the gear. 40 in a 30. Tbh I was annoyed, I wasn't accelerating I was obviously slowing down but I was speeding, no arguing with that. They were alright because I didn't argue, I remember him saying "are you not going to deny it" I just laughed and said no we all know I did it and it's right there on the gun why bother trying to lie...£100 later and a few hours of misused stats my licence was back in my hand.

Hopefully they will offer it to you. It's quite an enlightening day out, I say enlightening because you will realise

It's a cash cow idea, some of the attendees offences are hilarious

There isn't a typical violator, I think we had knits about every demographic in the room

50% of it is bullshit

My favourite parts were the chap telling us that 30mph zone scarecrow least safe, most accidents happen here, further probing revealed yes they do but virtually none are serious, it's the a roads where your mostblikelybto suffer injury or death. Make of that what you will, what I consider danger is what's dangerous not were bumps happen.

However my favourite bit was the proud exclaim action that Dorset has the safest motorways, very few accidents happen here. Funny that because we don't have any buddy....

Enjoy it, it's quality dross.

Sorry to hear that Mandy - as Gary says, it happens to us all at some point....

My one and only time was back in the very early 1990s; I was travelling up the M11 to Norwich early one Sunday morning to attend my cousin's wedding. It was a nice sunny day and the road was empty - needless to say I was not hanging around. Well into 3 figures, I spied a white Vauxhall Senator parked ahead in the distance, so I slowed down to 70 - just in case.

Sure enough it was an unmarked police car - I cruised past at 70 but he pulled me over a few hundred yards ahead. It turned out he was playing with his new speed gun and had clocked me coming into view at 118mph; then braking to 70..... So he booked me for my average speed over 1/2 a mile (or a mile, I cannot remember) - 98mph. Phew - 3 points and a £60 fine.

Take the speed awareness course if you can - if only to preserve your clean licence!!

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Was caught the day we all went to blackpool roobarb 52 mph in a 30 zone :-(,no excuse rushing to silverlines to pick my 300 up,caught by a mobile camera,on the letter it said 9mph over the speed limit i could do the speed awareness but for 22mph was a £100 fine and 3 points,i thought i was in for more to be honest.

My licence reads like a shopping list. Thankfully though, I have none that are valid, but for a while, I had far more on there than you really should be able to have to still legally drive!

I've also been caught slowing down from a 60 to a 30 a few years ago (39mph officially), which is very frustrating. To top it off, the notice came on my birthday, so it really made that day!
