Hi SE members,

As title, I am on the hunt for a new REO to cover London and the South East. Yassa has not been around for over a year now and his subscription has expired - hence he is no longer eligible to be an REO.

If anyone (subscribed) would like the job of organising regional events for this area, please let me know ASAP. If no-one takes up the role by Christmas, I will have to consider merging this area with South Central - calling it "London and the South" or something..... So please folks, this is your region; if you would like to retain it in the current format, please do not let it die!!

Thanks,

Richard:cool:

What about merging with East Anglia, back to how it used to be.

Im in the EA area, and some SE meets aren't that far from me. would be a shame to have a REO who was all the way down south, because in the past ive seen that the REO normally organised the meets closer to them :(

Interesting option - ultimately I'd rather have a dedicated REO for London and the SE, but we'll have to see how the SE members react. In the event of a merger, it would make sense that Essex falls into the EA region - but would Sussex (certainly) and Kent (maybe) not be better off with the SC? Also I have to do something with the Thames Valley too - that's near to the SE, SC and Midlands!! I will bear that in mind though mate....

I'm totally new to the forum and not yet 100% decided if I am going to buy a 300ZX (just waiting on finding someone around here to take me out for a drive in theirs so I can see what its like, as the one I'm considering is too far away to go for a quick test drive before buying).

But, if I do buy one I'll be around here plenty and I have experience of being area rep for larger clubs and as such am well used to organising both regional and national meets/events so I'd be happy to either be REO or help out whoever becomes REO :)

In my experience (maybe different for this club)...

Maintain a list of members in your area (so that you can PM them to let them know about events)

Organise a decent venue for a monthly meet (i.e. a pub which is fairly central to all your members and doesn't mind people spending half their evening in the carpark staring at engine bays etc)

Every so often arrange a rolling road day and perhaps other days too like wheel alignment

Keep an eye on what car shows are going to be in your area each year, arrange stands for the club at the ones you feel people would prefer to go to

Be on the forum reasonably often, for people to ask about things related to the cars and the forum

Maybe arrange a xmas meal each year

Help out with arranging and running any national events

Get used to feeling like a lot of what you do is in vain, there'll sometimes be no one else except you who turns up for a meet, people will continually drop out of things like rolling road days (deposits help alleviate this I find) etc.

Can sound like a lot, but generally not too hard and once you've got into the swing of it its not usually too hard :)

it sounds hard lol, I'd have a go but. But would probably want a few pushes in the right direction cause I've never done anything like it before.

That would be great if you could Terry.....

.....And I'm sure you'd get plenty of help mate!! Gibster-TT expressed an interest initially - and if Ghazoobe buys a ZX and subscribes, you have further potential assistance in the role. And since the SE also includes London, there's nothing to stop there being 2 joint REOs for the area.....!!

If you're up for the job - or can work with a joint REO, let me know and I'll sort it!!

I'll have a go, if im useless can I resign.

Has I said never done anything like it, so I don't mind joint.
