Firstly - VG purists will hate this thread. I've heard it all before so no need to bang on about how I'm.committing a sin etc etc.

I love my slicktop. I got it for a steal, so there's no way I'm selling it to buy a TT so forget that option.

So with all that in mind, when my house extension and garage workshop are complete next year, I'll be pulling the VG and replacing it.

What would people have and why?

So fat I have these choices

VH45DE

LS1

RB

VQ35DE or HR

VQ30DET.

All have been done by others, so all are possible.

Some are easier than others obviously.

Cost wise - for engine and gearbox and loom they all work out roughly the same.

Actually very good engines, they take to boost quite well they can take 450 bhp with nothing more than a thick copper HG to lower CR

TBH I would want to V8 the thing why replace one v6 with another.

if your going to do it then do it right !

There's a chap in the states with an SR20det in his z32....:s

That car fills me with horror. A four banger and Franklin's car looks like it belongs in a junk yard.

Yes that exercise in futility and being hip with the kids.

VH45 was always a lead option, since the sump and engine mounts are available from Performance VH.

However, I have no issues making my own, so an LS1 conversion is still on my radar. Buy a old camero for a few £k, strip engine and loom out of it. Flog the rest of the bits to Cam owners.

Myself and Bizz Phillips would be doing the work.

Well this is an interesting thread , as i have been mulling the same thing over and over and over again , the idea i had in the summer was to get a NA 300 and put in an engine out of a C32 AMG , crazy some might say , but in my opinion its a match made in heaven , bomb proof engine , and no lag , oodles of power / torque , stock is 354bhp and mine develops 400bhp with the map and free flow filters , 500 bhp+ not difficult to be honest, i have driven about everything over last 30 years and this engine its way up there ,engine is fairly low slung with the SC tucked between the heads , anyways a V6 3.2 Supercharged AMG is my shout.:cool2:
