Hi guys and gals, just a quick hello and plea for help and advice :-D

Was weighing up between getting an RX7 and a 300, the 300 is currently winning my vote, trouble is I know nowt about them, other than they look mint and have loved them ever since I was a kid. Have previously owned an RX7 and had quite a few issues with it which has also tainted my view

My pal Harbs300 guided me towards you guys, told me what you lot don't know about 300's aint worth knowing :-D

Anyone with any decent 300's for sale, w I'd be very interested, looking at buying early Jan

Cheers

Dan

Welcome to the Club fella...

Check out the tech forums as well. Loads of good advice on what to look for when buying etc...

Well the z32 has a proper piston engine for starters. I Spose really you have to drive one to know if it's for you. Heavier than the Rex obv. There are plenty of horror stories but also plenty of dogs, buy a good one and you won't regret it.

Cheer Ian, I had the 2.6 twin turbo UK edition, was an awesome bit of kit, unfortunately think it may have been abused before I bought it, went in a bit blind really, and they aren't cheap to get sorted :-C

Welcome to the forum buddy, plenty of help and advice for you on here, if you can't find something just ask and someone will answer you. Good luck with your search, and as previously stated if you buy a good one you will not be disappointed. Ian

They certainly ain't cheap to fix especially being a rotary engine but tbh bud you'd get the same if not more fun from a zed n/a or tt

Hi guys, just seen a nice non turbo one for sale, I take it there is notable difference between the turbo and non turbo version?

Welcome to the club Dan, i have an NA and just bought a TT, the NA is a good everyday car ( not the most economical daily drive lol) and reasonably hassle free and isnt slow by any means, but a TT does have the extra grin factor and is more tunable to achieve more power, but can be costly in the tubs dept, if you dont do your homework :thumbup1:

Welcome to the club Dan.....

.....And my basic advice is, decide whether you want the twin turbo or the NA. And then forget about other variants like SWB/LWB/manual/auto and just buy the best condition 300zx you can find!!!

You will get plenty of help and advice on here - and if you find a ZX miles away from where you are, let us know as there's always someone local-ish to it who will either take a look for you or meet you to check it out with you. There are often a few well-looked after members' cars for sale on here, which is always your best bet first....

Good luck in your hunt,

Richard:cool:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

I bought an average one running poorly, it is now brilliant, it did not take much to sort out, one trip to zedworld and one trip to Noz, £3000 for the car plus £2000 of maintanance got it up to as good as new then on further. My turbos are the smallest you can get and are as strong as an ox after 65000miles, now making 430hp at the engine.

When you start pushing the car it feels really comfortable doing it, not like you are doing it any harm. The only downside is that it is so planted and stable, that it is easy to go fast and if you want it to move around you have to really use some throttle or push really hard. For many I am sure that is not a drawback.

Good luck man!
