Hello again :)

whilst my vert is garaged away for the winter months I need to sort a few niggles out :(

One of those niggles is... It starts fine and sounds great, I can drive it about 5 miles and if I stop and restart it seems to be firing on 5 cylinders :( and will do this until I've turned it off ,left it over night and it starts fine again the next day?

any suggestion whats wrong?

Ptu breaking down

Thought it was that :( its the series 2? do they give up after a while? thought it was just the 1`s?

If its been sat in the garage for so long, check all your connector for corrosion, likely an injector connector or the 2 spades on the injector itself.

Ptu breaking down

Yes and yes.....

As I found out the other week, series 2 cars still had the series 1 PTU - which gave up the ghost and left me stranded on a busy dual carriageway waiting for the RAC!!!

Oh No Richard :( poor you and the zed! hope you've sorted it now :)

I meant the series 2 ptu , thats the one I have.....so are they prone to breaking too?

Alrighty Dazza!!!

The S2 PTU will last a long time, so you can rule that out. I would guess and agree with Groover; Injector, coilpack, plug or loom related issue.
