today has been a very bad day as the z has been involved in a crash.

luckily no one else involved, but just bad circumstance road conditions for a rear wheel drive car.

Police have recovered it and its 100% a complete write off.

So my zx days are done.

have got some spare parts that if anyone needs them they are free to collect as wont be needing them anymore.

Also happily noone been hurt not even so much as a scratch.

Not got any pics tho before anyone asks for them, lol.

just a bad day overall.

had a call today and they are bringing car back to mine.

I dont know how they are gonna get a low loader onto my drive tho as access is very tight.

will have to drag it from the road down the driveway and into the garage as the wheels are smashed so cant roll.

so does that mean they are going to let you keep it?

and also does that mean they are done with their investigations into the condition, therefor going to pay out?

i dont know yet. they have asked me to take some pictures of the damage and email them to them.

best thing to do then is do as they asked and send them the photo's of the damage but also include some pre accident photo's to prove that the car was in great condition before this unfortunate incident.

hope it all works out for you mate as I have been shafted by my insurance company in the past when my saph was stolen and torched. they then said it had mods which I didn't declare (seats) and so wouldn't pay out.

Well it wouldst have caught fire if you hadn't put those seats in :headvswal:headvswal:headvswal

I know mate, my stupid fault in the first place

My little expression which is really just an excuse for all the stuff I waste money on is "you've got to enjoy yourself haven't you" I know it's not exactly a quote by the dalli llama, but when my mates raise eyebrows it's what I say.

I bought my 2.8 capri in my first year in the RAF as soon as I could afford it. It was 3000 pounds then I spent nearly all my money keeping it going. The day it died, I think including buying it insuring it and everything I'd 'lost' 10 grand. I felt like a right tit. It just fell to pieces beneath me. But now I can always say that I owned my dream car. The more time passes the better I remember it and mates still talk always bout it with such a smile on their face. I got 1600 back after all that. But I cruised about in my capri setting car alarms off. Learned a lot about opposite lock and had an awesome time.

Owning a car so awesome that it throws itself off the road is better than mincing about in a daewoo matiz and telling stories about hypermile ing down the pub.

That's a sound philosophy mate..... And one that I can wholeheartedly subscribe to....

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Holy sh@t mate.... Lucky to come out of that with no injuries at all.

But looking at it... Need a new front end. Work done on the rear 1/4

Wing and skirt..

What's the other side like??

Depending on the damage to the front end... It's all repairable.

I've seen worse and repaired and sprayed worse, and you would never have know any damage was ever there (which is the point of accident repair lol)

Depending on what bits you want and secondhand parts you can get hold of (again this is all subject to the actual damage on the front end)

Shouldn't be too hard to sort out.. Maybe a Cat C

Couldn't see the photos on tapatalk, but there a shocker!, good to know your in one piece!

Wide arch time :)

if i was either fixing it or relacing it that would be a huge thing to consider having. always wanted a wide arch zed.

Dave I have 4 single wheel dollies (a bit like skateboards under each wheel) that I use for pushing the 280 round my garage. They won't get the car over a kerb but will get it down your drive. If it's going to help I will bring them up to Donny. I'm sure you can find enough people to push.

thanyou mate, very kind offer.

luckily ive managed to get it dropped off at mikey beans garage for now as the low loader couldnt get around into my driveway.

Was that front made mostly of fibreglass? The wing is missing but the side skirt is still on... Strong glue lol. From pictures I recon that looks worse than it is. They will right it off, but guessing the sill is straight as the skirt looks happy, just those front cross members to be concerned about. Rear quater looks cosmetic from the pic and you probably snapped/bent the lower arm or and subframe been there done that. Were you going fast?

front was a fibreglass bumper so gave way very easily. speed wise i hit the walkway barrier at about 38-40mph.

probably wouldnt be as bad if it had the full front strenghening bar in place.

well dave looks like its one off those weeks i've just lost control of my vert and wrecked two wheels good old mikey bean has just come over to lend me some wheels so i can get it home that will teach me not to think when i drive the z...

The Winter roads have started early to claim damage to our zeds  Hope its not to bad Johnyboy.

Bloody hell, mate!! :( Glad you're ok...!

That's it... I'm not moving mine off the drive until it's red hot outside!!

My zed kicked out on me earlier too, luckily I managed to catch it before the kerb caught the wheel. Roads are definitely getting more treacherous for our are happy zeds!
