Well i was asked to make a light weight version of the 99 spec bumper for one of our time attack lads

He said the original was just over 10kg so i said i would be happy if i could get it half of that or there abouts. so ive just weighed it and its come in at 4.8kg so combined with the headlight panel ive made it has saved a good 6kg off the nose of the car, thats about 6 normal bags of sugar lol!!

Which means a sharper turn in and when on the brakes, Every little helps

Excellent work as always, looking forward to receiving it. The cars going on a diet hopefully to loose weight overall and offset a few other things that are being added. Something to keep me busy over the winter anyway!

Yeah I'm happy. The guesstimate was close to. Still quite strong to. Stronger than I thought it was going to be :)

Is this a one off? Will it make the construction weaker? Ie more likely to explode on a bump.

it will be weaker, so it will most likely break if I hit it, however, I will also have a serious splitter fitted over the winter which should protect it, ie the splitter will be taking the hits / curbs !

and the splitter will be chassis mounted, so no stress on bumper

It's hard to say as there is more flex in it so might be more forgiving ?
