A mouse turned my 300zx into the worlds first four cylinder V6 TT non turbo...

Hello, I am new here.

I own a swb manual with a Vg30DETT...

There are a host of problems to solve with this car and don't know the best way of going about it.

Is there a specialist I could see who can solve the following issues at a reasonable price? If so, how much would it be?

The following problems:

- Hicas leak ... I need to top up the reservoir with ATF Castrol Dextron II every 2 weeks or a red warning light comes on (pipe replacement? Seals?).

- There is blue smoke coming from what I can only think of as oil drenched / old spark plugs... (Old old sad spark plugs). The boost for turbos are good though.

- There is a highly annoying creaking noise coming from the passenger side dash (and I do mean annoying).

- The clutch is also slipping in 4th & 5th gear - mainly due to the car being off the road since 2008.

All these issues were caused by a blown ECU... probably from a chewed up wiring loom and a nest found in the engine bay. This has put the car off the road since 2008, turning it from something perfect into a relentless money pit. I'm assuming from the evidence that a rodent caused all these problems before being blasted out at some point...

If anyone could direct me to a good expert in Zs, that would be much appreciated.

The creaking is most likely the upper link arm on the suspension, I had this for over a year till I replaced the arm, creak and squeek vanished.

Z world is is your best choice for the other bits , good luck

Thanks, I will give them a try. They have a phone number on their site. Do you know where their workshop is based?

For the squeaking noise, first try this... When driving along slowly but just enough to make it squeak, try pulling the bonnet pull to pop it onto the secondary latch and see if the noise stops. Obviously don't do this at speed but just a few mph when it's squeaking. It's common for the bonnet latch to squeak but it does sound like it's coming from behind the dash...

Was that the fuca you showed me about a year back?

If you found that mouse I hope it suffered public execution to show all other nice you don't mess. He'll I would of mounted its cheeky little head in a pole old school style! Few years ago I got my keep net out and a mouse had chewed through each layer if it, for fun I guess little blighter.

Thanks, I will pop the lever; I'm definitely giving this a go later on today. I am hoping it will be this because the bonnet is gradually seizing anyway. When opening it further than the second latch, the bonnet will just stay in the same position regardless of the support bar not holding it. WD40 time!

ady123, could you drop me an email please?

Cheers

If I ever found the creature, I would want a taxidermist to create a new car bonnet emblem out of it; something like a jaguar styled one. It would then receive all the disgrace in the world from being fitted to my partners Daihatsu Cuore 799cc which is due to be crushed next month (this was the car I was stuck with when the 300zx was off road).

Welcome to the club Adrain hope you get that swb sorted.

Cheers Gary,

I will have it sorted very soon! After that, this site seems really lively, so I will be seeing if there are any people who have these great cars in the local area
