Well just got back from scrap yard and to be honest the car is in a sad state of affairs:-(car was on top of it and muddy tyres thrown all in side, shame red leather looked good, some one has said he wants engine and box, I'm having all front running gear, nothing else really worth having, the car is at Mc coys scrap yard in Birkenhead if anyone is interested.

Just been down, wot a mess! I wanted to see more of the interior but couldn't be arsed moving all the tires, exhausts & all the other crap. Took a picture though

Guys, When you say Red interior, are we talking retrimmed red leather or original red JDM style?!... ALWAYS wanted one of them lol

The red was U.S only, and with the OEM red the entire interior is red, inc all the plastics, carpets, roof lining..etc.

This will be aftermarket, as you can see black interior plastics, but a red back seat.

Its probably torn to pieces with all the scrap they have piled in it :(

Someone had spent a lot of money re doing that interior. Looked like it had bomex mirrors aswel, but smashed.

best part of that car is the 1/2" air ratchet sitting on the rear spoiler:shifty:

.....

Well, had yet another excellent day yesterday. Met T.Mogsy at the breakers in Birkenhead where this car is lying unloved and in a sorry state. We asked the guy at the scrap yard how much the interior would cost, his reply was "take anything you want for £25.00". We moved the crap out of it, (well Jr. and Tom did.....lol) to reveal a really nice red leather interior that is full of crap, but looked really good apart from the drivers seat that has had such a weight on it the frame is actually bent, and one part of the leather has been cut into. The rest of the interior although full of crap and water looked as though it would clean up nicely.

We stripped the interior out of it, found both targas' in really good condition although dirty, nice red leather covered oem steering wheel, managed to get the bonnet open, and engine and bay looks very clean indeed. Tom and Ian Jr. working really hard to get all the stuff out of it, Tom obtained the TT clocks for his new TT, we ended up with loads of stuff. Paid the bloke £30.00 for all of this, and felt really guilty, but it was his choice of price.....lol. So even though in a very sorry looking state, part of this once beautiful car will live on keeping other Zeds on the road, a fitting end I think.

Do we know if the guy that said he wants the engine is actually going to have it? Could make great use of it if he has changed his mind about it.

We then went and had a look at the new TT shell Tom has purchased, which is really nice Tom, you got a bargain there bud, dropped off the bits he had from the scrapper, and then Jr. and I drove down to Lee Dent's place in Shrewsbury to meet up with Lee and Keith (KJZ32), where they were very busy getting Keith's TT built back up with it's nice new engine.

Later on the red leather interior was taken out of my car, and was started to be cleaned, wow what a bargain, it is coming up really nice. I will get some pics up asap.

So what a great day, and I would just like to say thank you to all involved, T.Mogsy Ian Jr for working like troopers to get the scrapper stripped, Lee Dent for letting us clean a little of the seats to see what they will be like when cleaned, and for all the tea we could drink, thanks to Callum for the tea making. Keith and son Morgan for the laughs and working flat out to get their TT back to life with it's new engine.....Thanks all, will see you very soon.

Oh and lastly, Brian I even got the 1/2" air ratchet sitting on the rear spoiler.....:whistling:

A very productive day Ian. I'm gona go back down in a couple of weeks to see if the engine is still there. Will make him an offer on it if it is cus it looked good. They were mph TT clocks. Glad we could salvage something off that car cus it would've just gone to waste.
