I have been looking at a 300zx twin turbo on ebay

It has finished now but the guy is after £400 plus delivery

He says he has bills for loads of work to the engine and has now broken the car

The engine is miles away so no chance of seeing it

It has garret turbos and has been removed from the car

I am a little sceptical as whether to buy this or not

Any help would be appreciated

i dont know the rules on the forum but maybe you could publish the sellers name n see if you get any feedback back on the company and maybe that may give you the right idea in which direction to go

Only buy an engine off the ground off someone you know or trust...buying from ebay or a stranger then ide recomend hearing it running 1st while its still in the car. A full refund is all well and dandy but it does not pay for taking it back out the car after its been fitted.

I agree with Brian, the guy i got my new TT from broke his las one for parts, due to the engine, he bought a couple from ebay in the end and both were bad.

Unless you are prepared to strip it down to rebuild, i wouldnt risk it. There is one for £100 on ebay at the moment thats less of a risk as far as throwing good money after bad, at least if it wasnt a goer, you could strip it and sell the parts to get your money back.

I bought one myself this early summer advertised as a good runner...got it home and thought ide just strip and check it out as i had all the gaskets and found almost every water jacket in the block had cracked across the bores due to frost:censored: And this was from a member on here too who btw is not around anymore..So be very carefull buying matey if you cant hear it running.

ESP when so many forum members could help you out in that front.there is no need to buy an unknown. Have you thought about getting zedworld to swap the engine? Iirc it's about £1500 supply and fit? You would need to speak to jeff obv.
