500 BHP ...as above ....dont forget if it goes fast ..it needs to stop faster....brakes should be before any engine conversion or upgrade in my opinion...

Yeah at the end of the day, brakes do allow you to go faster..and have a slightly higher chance of surviving stuff..

If you want 500hp and don't want to rebuild the engine the first thing I would do is a compression test just to give you an idea of the health of the engine then

Full 3in exhaust including elbows no cats

2.5in intake piping

I'd personally go for something like the dual pop intake

Intercoolers or front mount

Spark plugs

At least 550cc injectors

Turbo upgrade

Bigger rad

And proper Remap

Also other things to consider are things like deleting a few things, cambelt if not been done, then just general service items like fuel filter ect,

If your not doing the work yourself I'd budget a good few grand

My engine is low compresion, i dont have 3" exhaust (i got 2.5") , i dont have 2.5" intake piping (is stock ones), yep i got dual intake , yep i got FMIC , yep i got cold spark plugs , yep i got 750cc injectors, yep i got bigger turbos (GT2560R) , yep i got bigger rad , yep i got remap (Noz) , Yep I got 504BHP .

You should get yourself on the dyno leader board with that kind of power :thumbup1:.

Draxan what is your low compression? 130 psi?? and for everyone else is 150psi over all six cylinders good compression?

I have no idea where it is :P .

It was like that, but im not 100% sure about that readings.

That's quiet a big variation in numbers across the cylinders, I think your allowed about 10% difference between cylinder iirc

Do the lower numbers come up if your pour a little oil into the cylinder?

Yep 150 across all six is a decent result

I have no idea where it is :P .

At least you wont be detting with them low numbers...are you sure they are correct as 115 should be giving you a blue haze behind you:1eye:

Can't be right... As you say bri, that car should be like a red arrow

:rofl::rofl:

Why the figure of 500bhp? Only ask because people set out to get a figure like that with no idea of how fast their car will be with it. From a stockish chipped engine with 350bhp to 500bhp is a massive difference nd the rest of the car, and driver needs to be up to it. Brakes, tyres, suspension, good geo setup, bigger better rads and intercoolers. What do you want from the car that needs 500bhp. Mines running 400bhp with a massive spec, but it's running it safely and has all supporting mods. All it needs now is remap and a decent driver.

Just wondering your reasoning before you spend a fortune chasing numbers.

Cheers

Danny

Well put mate. I want mine to be FAST but I'm already fully aware it's faster than I am stock, and unless the road is bone dry traction can be problematic. You need ALOT of grip to get a 500hp rwd car with no traction control to accelerate without wanting to smoke up or spin out.

mine is 440hp and 480ft/lb with the na diff and its stupidly quick around here on these roads. unless its a perfect day there is to much power and that's with 295 pzeros on the back so becomes pointless really .

what do you mean too much power? does it wheelspin in 3rd or 4th??? thats when i personally think theres too much power, 450hp isnt much these days.

will do easy if its in the wets. its all b roads around there so you have to think of grids and cambers ect.

450hp is up there with some Ferraris and the R8's etc so its plenty enough plus with a bit of weight loss we weigh a fair bit less than the modern cars. but the na diff is like adding 100hp extra

lol hahaha na diff, read alot about them, shame they take the top speed down to 160

midrange is what its about...top speed is for playstations and guys with small diks:devil:

it drops down to 175mph

but that's silly quick. I would prefer a second off my 0/60 then a 198mph motor. makes a huge difference for over takeing

top speed is good for those of us that dont want our cars revving to high, and want to do track days/ events rather than talk rubbish on the Internet.

be interesting to see head to head. any na diff guys want to do some racing next year in March at the fast show santa pod RWYB day?

only about 300/400rpm higher so not really noticeable ;)

you would be doing well to reach above 175 mph on a track day. even Jaffa is going na next year iirc

im sure having longer gears is better for a TT with big power, as you will be in boost for longer.... less time changing gears or being at the wrong rpm

500rpm is alot, that gone from motorway cruise at 2 800rpm ish to 3200ish..... not for me, i personally like the low end pull and keeping the revs and sound down. each to their own i guess, hopefully one day ill ride in an na rear swapped TT.
