Found out i had a leak on my car last week, so this week jacked it up and fixed the leak. Was the power steering fluid leaking out of a pipe.

Took it for a drive, stopped down the road and looked underneath and there was still a bit of oil dripping out. Took it back home, jacked it up and the leak is coming from where my finger is. Is there meant to be a bolt there? If not why is it leaking?

That bolt only holds the clutch cover plate on. If you have oil coming from that area, it could be the main seal.

Oh great, thats what my dad said.

But if there was a bolt there, would the oil still leak out? or is it leaking out of somewhere before it gets to just there?

ah so its leaking out the seal then thats the only place it can get out so its leaking there.

No, it's only a bit of tin to stop grit and gravel getting in there and it's best it wouldn't hold the oil back as you wouldn't want the bell housing filling up with oil.

The missing bolt is pretty irrelivant to your leak. Pop the starter off and look inside, if its full of oil that's bad news.
