the closer to zero the better.

Definitely not zero unless the engine is off or it's a diesel.

Roughly -60kpa (~9psi)

Edited by Noz

16-22"hg if measured in psi so as to speaK

the stock dash display is reading near the -14. the after market gauge i have is reading -19 ish psi is that rite

the engine wasnt warm tho

That will be 19 inHG (inches of mercury), which is between 16 & 22 as given. It won't be -19 psi, the engines don't produce that much vacuum on overrun.

confused the gauges i just put is says psi on it so after market boost gauges with psi on them are not psi ??

Pressure & vacuum often measured in different units. Use an online converter to convert 16 & 22 inHg to PSI.

this is not making sence to me i fitted a psi gauge if that showing -19 psi so is the gauge not working correct then please explain more clear as i have never had a turbo car before so am new to this

Basically + from zero on your gauge is psi - from zero is in inHg which is a measurement of vacuum, vacuum is not measured in psi but can be converted from inHg into psi for comparison

thnaks you now i understand 100% ok super

ok on the online conveter is say -20 psi is inHG 40

ok am being very stupid here the gauge says psi and inHG the inHG is in tiny writing i didnt see it so car idle is 19- 20ish inHG thanks for putting me straight

Mine on idle - cold start.

looks the same as mine on the stock gauge. but i was talking about the boost gauge reading i just fitted. full tank of fuel i see how much does it cost to fill up full am yet to fill it rite up

Mine was ran almost dry. It was £92. I'll be getting through about 4 of these in a few weeks!

When i picked up my car i put £60 in it on the drive home i got about 230 miles

...to be honest, I rarely fill mine up. It's getting a lot of use at the moment as the whether is so good....plus I'm doing a huge road trip in it soon. I rarely put more than half a tank in, because there's usually quite a gap between using it. Don't see the point in spending £100 on a tank of 98 when it'll sit there loosing octane for weeks and weeks. So I put in what I need and no more.

The fuel light was on when i put the 60 in

That's actually pretty good. I was budgeting on 300 to a tank at a steady 70/80 on French motorways. It's 500 miles from St.Malo to my destination near Toulouse. The way back is about 100 miles longer as I'm sailing back from a different port and driving over the Millau Bridge before heading up to LeMans. So, french side, that should see me running about 1200 miles, with another 200 from my home to Portsmouth and back giving between 1400 and 1500. So I'm plumping on using about 4-5 tanks. We'll see how well it does.

.....I don't usually give a toss about mpg in the Z as I have another car as my DD. But with the distance I'm going, it's kinda nice to have some vague idea. I believe you can get 30mpg from a Z32TT!

on the motoway its not s bad but when i was booting it round it sure uses it then. am the same its not my daily driver. is your car modded or stock

should of said engine modded

It's fettled with. It is a rebuilt motor (by Jimmer), boosting about 1 bar. I have an expensive exhaust system and intake and various other things removed from it, so it's not stock power.

Plus it has a John Dixon chip in it. I'm considering taking it to Noz to get it remapped once I get some Z1 intercoolers and a new engine harness.
