Can the NEO or the appropriate REO help with organising TOTB, it would be great to see the club there, rather than a few individuals. Noz has attempted to rally some support but he has a pretty busy time of it already!

With the help of the NEO/REO we could get a few cars involved and it's a great, cheap weekend. Competitors don't have to do all the events, just a run up the qtr which is the same as a trip to santa pod :)

Not much help to you I know, but I can help with this next year (only live an hr away from Elvington)

Unfortunately it's too short notice this year as I work away, and have 2 x 6 month olds to look after when I am on leave.

For those thinking about going, but unsure you should certainly go. It's much less formal than some of the annual shows and in my book that makes it more enjoyable.

I went with a bunch of folk from 350z-uk a few years back and got burnt to a crisp it was so hot. My only complaint about the show is that there is no shelter from sun or rain!

Speaking openly, the whole supporting motorsports thing is a joke as other than creating the subforum there's been no other visible 'support' from the club.

There's been no interest from a committee or moderator perspective in the TOTB thread, one of the biggest events in the country where you can see the fastest cars up close and personal and actually being used!

These events are so much more interesting than a static show

There's a timeattack event in less than 2 weeks combined with a modified live event but nothings organised for that

There was a BDC round last weekend at Teeside, again nothing on here ...

These are events where Zed's are competing but the club is absent. These are all opportunities for the club to do better and to be regonised by other clubs.

I'm not ranting, purely stating facts and trying to show how we could do better. Do we need a MEO?

All good points Jaffa and yes we need to address them as the club should do more. We are very slow at getting forum jobs done as we all have jobs and families that come first but we must try and do more in the Motorsport area. The graphics for the race cars are near the final stages now but I know you would like to see more hands on help at events.

I know links are available to the time attack Calander but have we got a sticky thread in that section that sets out the when were how much much etc for these events, ease of access for info. I'm planning on attending in September but am none the wiser as to how to do this.

A MEO is an excellent idea in my opinion. Finding a candidate that attends at least some of these events and has the time to take this on will be the issue?

There in lies the issue.

You attend a round of TA as you would any show or track day as a spectator :)

That is a very good idea Joel.....

......And it would certainly be a big help to Voddy; as judging by the number of events that our members would dearly like the club to have a presence at, having just one NEO in place might not be enough. I do think that the REOs should probably do their bit to assist Voddy with events in their own regions, but a MEO, or a deputy NEO to help Voddy out sounds like the way to go.

We do now have Noz as REO for the Midlands; and with Noel's connections/interest in motorsport, maybe we can do something with that.

So on to Jaffa's bringing this to our attention. We hear you mate, we just need to do something about it!

Richard:thumbup1:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

How do you mean mate - and feel free to PM me if you don't want to say it in the open....?

Gimme a minute, happy to openly post nothing to hide.

Ok, this is a paste from a thread that was going in April, obviously its not up to date, but I haven't got the time right this second to redo it. However I would assume that the majourity of it will still be the same.

REO's, now remember im not picking on anyone. I will now list the REO's as listed on the site and the last event they organised.

south east yassa:

4/9/2011 in fairness to the guy, suggested meets weren't even replied to on a few occasions. Having said that he hasn't even logged on since October.

south central BigH:

14/1/2012 how many turned up? several events and meets have happened since this in south central

devon and cornwall:

VACANT

Avon Somerset and Glos:Murt

Actaully stood down on the 12th of may 2012, it just hasn't been updated.

Thames valley:ZX-TT

red lyon meets have been occurring upto, Christmas last year, however zx-tt hasn't organised one since 31/10/2011

East Angliasty1

only took over on the 10th of march

midlands:jeff and Jamie

22/5/11 looks like other meets have occurred, but reo appointed one that's the last day I could see publicly advertised in the section.

north east and yorks:

VACANT

North west:turb0z & Quavey

21/08/2012

I will carry on and do the others but that's England, and theres a definite trend, were not talking the winter was rubbish were talking long term lack of meets. I do not blame the reo's if no one turns up your going to get disheartened. However this is a typical example of something we as a club are doing wrong, no sorting out meets and not turning up to the ones that are. As I've said this isn't personal I'm merely highlighting how bad this has become nationwide.

What I was/ still am trying to highlight here is that we are not up to speed or current on our REO's, some of them are working hard it must be said and a hard job it is. However many simply arn't and some of the ones listed aren't even active members of the club, period. Its not just down the REO's people need to turn up to things as well, I cant specifically remember the details but one REO told me his wife cooked for people to arrive and no one showed, that's piss poor and I feel sorry for him and his wife, at that rate its no wonder some haven't arranged anything for over a year is it?

I think we need to take a very close look at who the REO's are, indeed if an area actually has its REO still and as you say if they are pulling their weight and supporting the NEO. Its all very well saying we need multiple NEOs, or a specific MEO but I think we need to look at what we've got already and get that in order.

Ah it appears you can only buy one event in advance through the time attack website, this take you to the relivant track, and event. What I didn't realise is the event seem sto be called modified live, not as id expected Time Attack round(-) just to clarify for anyone else that is confused around that.

I think part of the problem is the fact that the club has no past/heritage in Motorsport. Its going to take some time to build up a forum section and support.

The vast majority of members dont seem to be interested in taking part of even turning up to watch. Even at events like Zedfest not many people go out on track

Thats not intended as a criticism or a dig at members.

I have tried to publicise what Bob and James are doing and encourage a few more members to come and watch and will continue to do so. But I fully accept that any form of Motorsport will always be a minority interest on this forum

I'm the north east REO. Our problem at the minute is that jimmer keeps taking people's cars to fix. It we've done a couple of things we've had a meet at seaton, Teesside. Park, I've been to Japfest 2 with Paul (Harby was coming but didn't have the car back and was sons birthday), meet at my house and myself and the other half put food out.

Also got a few new names on the forum in our area such as Tomfromthenorth, mondo, Dan (looking for a car) and got a meet currently advertised with other z models. But not sure if that'll change as TOTB sounds mint so might go there and ask the guys if they fancy it.

I would gladly take up the mantle of MEO working alongside Ian. In that instance, it would be best for me to share REO duties with a fellow Midlander, perhaps one based towards the west side in order to cover more bases thoroughly throughout the area :)

Exciting times :thumbup1:

You have done a hell of a lot of work to highlight zeds in Motorsport Pete so hopefully it will grow stronger.

Sounds like the right steps, given the other comments on here how can we in turn better support the NEO, REO and the new MEO?
