Just fitted my uprated Z1 side mount inter coolers and the question is this: do you guys recommend keeping the original air flow ducts attached or bin them:blink:

I have a 99 spec front end so have pretty large inter cooling apertures!

I have just fitted them and re-fitted these ducts but sat here thinking is hat the correct thing to have done!

Must add they fit like a glove...........well impressed:biggrin:

Very nice Dave! When I upgraded mine I improved the airflow OUT of the coolers dramatically, people seem to forget about air having to travel through and out the back,, I relocated my washer and overflow bottles, removed all the unwanted crap round there and louvred the arch liner.

Ahem.. Well... I binned off the huge standard bottle and made my own out of a thermal cup lol... Much more compact :p

I has the same idea, after i read yor reply and have been looking on ebay for a smallish washer bottle, but have you seen the size of the water bottles on modern cars:w00t:

Want one off a old fiesta or cortina, they were quite small:cool3:

i would modify your ducts mate, otherwise your wasting part of those nice SMIC's.

I would cut the top part off and use some thin metal and rivets to extend it, easy to do even if you have no experience with sheet metal.

Im buying this to replace mine

Good find:clap:
