After the success of the Trentham classic car show there seems to be some interest in the event at Shugborough Hall, Staffordshire

 

This is another large show, 1000+ vehicles, organised by the same promoters as Trentham Gardens

 

Shugborough Hall is a large National Trust Stately Home set in rural Stafforshire. It is particularly nice for families as the hall has a 'working' olden days farm and kitchens where the staff are dressed up in period costume showing how life was lived back in the day

Shugborough Hall is situated approx 6 miles from J13 of the M6

Thank you for your email and glad you all enjoyed the day at Trentham Gardens last weekend.

 

10 cars will be fine for a club stand at Shugborough.

 

Entry fee is £3.50 per exhibit which allows driver plus one other adult and up to two children under 16 into the event but they must be in the vehicle coming in.

 

Entries usually close on this event four weeks beforehand due to the popularity of the event.

 

Entry includes access to the grounds and gardens. Entry to the mansion house and working farm is at additional cost.

Now bear in mind this event clashes with 'Zedfest'.

 

I would like to attend (and my car should be fixed well before then :clap:), and I believe there are a few others already wishing to exhibit.

 

If there is sufficient interest we need to be booking a club stand within the next couple weeks. I will also post up details for this show on zclub.net

Hey we could meet at Sandbach services instead and get some breakfast of the MacMuffin variety lol

 

It would mean me heading north and turning around at J17 onto southbound but I don't mind. Actually either way I am gonna be heading 10 miles north to come back south, but I am looking forward to the convoy as my car is atually running rather than limping now!!

 

Unfortunately I don't know of anything around J13.

 

Looking at the attendees there only seems to be Onslow and Silverline heading from the south

 

In fact given the location of the show in comparison to Silverline, do you want to head directly from Cannock to Shugborough (I can post you pass out) or meet up with the rest of us at J13 M6?

 

Onslow how about yourself - I guess J13 M6 will be on your route?

 

Everyone else it would appear that Sandbach services or Little Chef J16 are both on your natural route - any preference of meeting place?

Hi I cannot go to this one but there is a service in between j15 and 14 and staffard McDonald's is off at 14 2nd exit off the roundabout and follow the road to the next roundabout and it's on the left

I got a reply - yes you can come and pay £8 at the exhibitors entrance (so it's not too excessive) then join us on our 300zx club stand

 

I've been cheeky and ask if that also allows you the normal 2 adult + 2 kids allowance. if not and you are carrying passengers(s) we may have to offload some into other cars

 

I also note that the the public are not allowed in until 11am at Shugborough. This would suggest we could arrive slightly later than at Trentham

 

I would now suggest a 8.45 meet at J16 M6 for those heading southbound, to rendezvous wth those heading Northbound at J13 M6 at 9:15. That should see us at the show by about 9:40 which gives us a little more time to organise ourselves than we had at Trentham

Oh BTW - I went down to my usual carwash today and the guys there straight away told me my car was in the local paper (Evening Sentinel) a few weeks ago! I wondered 'oh no what have I done now'..... but it turns out after the the Trentham car show they had an article which featured pics of the Knight Rider car, one of the big Yank cars, a couple others..... and Mine!!!

 

Must see if I can find a copy of that to scan :cool2:

Rich, if myself and Richard are coming from the south mate, junc 17 Sandbatch is wayyyyyy out of the way, considering Shugborough hall is junc 13,,so if we say all meet there,i have just looked on Google and it is showing there is a Holiday Inn,so,as Richard Smith has said 9.15. can we all meet there ?

Yeah the idea is for the southbound crew to meet at Sandbach (I have to go some way north for this but fancy the drive)

 

Then we will convoy down to J13 to meet the rest of you heading northbound. If we meet Sandback at 8:45 that gives us plenty of time to get to J13 by 9:15 or so to meet you two plus Onslow. J13 Holiday Inn sounds good to me.

 

PaulR I guess you have a 50/50 choice which rendezvous point you want to head for?

 

That just leaves Steve (Silverline) who lives closer to Shugborough - do you want to have your pass and go directly to the show or do you want to meet at J13?

 

I reckon with the inevitable little delays you always get when trying to organise a group of people, plus the queue into the venue which is 6 miles from J13, we should be on stand by about 10:15 which gives us 45 mins to organise ourselves before the show opens rather than just 'dumping' the cars like we did at Trentham lol
