I was wondering what too look for on a convertible 300zx any probs or upgrades i should be looking for .. I know nothign of z cars and was thinking of getting a 350z convertible but wasnt impressed both by performance or interior so thought why not save 4 or 5k and put up with interior and buy a 300zx convertible and i found a black manual example on ebay , im in northern ireland so cant just pop over and look to see if its for me .

In terms of performance, a rag top z32 will not be up the scratch with a z33 rag top, for one reason alone, rag top z32 are ALL non turbo from factory and almost exclusively automatic, so are creating around 220hp thats not to say they are slouchy just not as quick as the z33 and its 280hp motor. Why exactly are you set on a soft top? The more common z32 te top model is just as nice as a convertible, more secure, better looking, available in the manual twin turbo platforms from factory, this comes at a happy 280hp from factory and can be encouraged to put down circa 400hp on the stock engine and turbos. Id never try and talk anyone out of buying any fairlady, but in honesty dot for dot the z33 soft top is a better car than a z32 soft top, but a full fat twin turbo z32 is a killer car even in this day and age.

Any ZX will be hard to PX at reasonable value, unless its a UK TT manual. Convertible Zs, be it manual or auto, will be even harder to PX I would think. As for performance, if you weren't impressed with the 350Z, doubt the 300 will impress you at all! It's more of a GT cruiser.

yes i understand and you being a into car sales i assume will prob understand . what i meant : approx 8k for 350z vert or 4 k for more or less same thing without be pedantic and just enjoy the cruiser as it is , as for trade in , re sale etc etc anything under 5k doesnt really matter if it falls or gains value , i prefer the vert over the tbar models.

As for autos people just dnt buy them in ni , ive had afew nice bmws that where auto and had the same reaction everytime when i went to trade them in or sell privatly i had the response no one wants them unless your giving them away attitude , irrespective if a big car or cruiser car maybe better in auto form for daily driving i find people here just dnt get auto , so i have to take the auto manual thing into consideration when buying any car
