What is going on?

 

I thought that with the upgrade of the forum things would go from strength to strength but I have to say it's gone backwards!

 

At least on the old setup there were loads of fights, fall outs, pics and funny posts that kept it interesting.

 

Since we moved over I have to say IMHO it's gone sour!

 

No more hilarious threads, no more daft pics and to be perfectly honest a loss of posts from hardcore members it's nothing short of fcuking sh1te!!!

 

New forum has been up and running now for a few weeks and it strikes me that it's going downhill sharpish.

 

Die hard techies are propping the whole thing up with boring tech talk but the whole life of our forum seems to evade me big time.

 

Even makes me feel like getting shot to be honest!

 

I loved and kept going with my car for one reason and one reason only...this place!

 

Once the spark and character leaves here I get shot and leave!

 

Maybe that's what some people want? But I put it to you that I haven't posted that much lately so the lack of character that was our forum has fcuk all to do with me!

 

Boring...boring...boring!

 

Disappointed and gutted at the lack of interest and to be honest it's highlighting what I strived to proove!

 

Yeah you can talk tech all day long but what this forum and the members was all about was having a laugh!

 

RIP 300zx.co.uk(as we knew it!) :(

There's plenty of free information out there on the web regarding 300zx's,most of which is more reliable and accurate than what you're likely to find here in many cases.

I ended up buying a GTO as the 300zx seems to have a declining image now!

3000GTO? You can get over 900bhp EASY in GT on the Playstation. Got a few round this way that are totally stock, and spend more time at the mechanic than on the road. BOOOM!

 

My mate AND I were at traffic lights on Friday (in his old Range Rover) and had some plonker in a GTO rev him up. Mate revs back, and as soon as the lights change Mr GTO is off...........unfortunately the GTO went straight down the road, and one of his turbo's went into orbit. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! Seems to be an even more common fault on them than it is on a Z!

 

GTO's look a bit bland too. Seem to be driven mainly by 'older' persons.

there's some heated opinion going on in here! I'll open myself up to all kinds of abuse now:

 

I haven't paid £20.

 

Now for my disclaimer and weak excuse:

 

I've just sold my 200SX, and I have 6-7 grand burning a hole in my bank account. I'm giving very serious thought to eating your... no, sorry, to buying a 300ZX but I might end up with a 944 turbo, WRX Scooby or some-such. (No I certainly won't be getting a GTO - whaddaya think I am?!)

 

My point is, I want to know as much about the 300 as possible before I buy. If I buy one, I'll be happy to cough up the filthy cash and stick myself on the forum. But this is only one (the main one I admit) of a few possible cars I'm after.

 

I consider myself to be a novice in these matters (though I've thumbed through the "Enthusiasts Companion" many a time. Actually the pages are getting stuck together now :eek: )

 

So, I'd like to find out about the main things right and wrong about the motor, but I might leave this forum in two weeks time never to return.

 

So, I feel miserable that I can't add a 'wanted - your motor' post to the For Sale/Wanted forum, but at the same time I don't feel ready to give Craig £20 for a forum I will only use in a cursory manner for a coupla weeks.

 

A controversial view from the dark side! Am I a terrible free-loader or a prospective and eager new member, ready to squirt wads of cash toward the traders here (or even buy your car off you!)

 

Anyway, as I can't think of anything else but 300's at the moment, I'm off to attach myself, tick-like, to the rest of this forum.

Cool - a view from the real outside world eh :) So that pretty much sums it up I reckon - give people say a months free membership then its cough up time.... People will get fed up of having to create a new alias every time - plus the added bonus that if you know who someone is, you may well be more willing to help them out if, say, they've helped you out in the past - would anyone actually admitt to just using new aliases all the time? Nah I don't think so ;)

It's a difficult balance - much as we'd like this to be free, tanstaafl. Bandwidth's gotta be paid for, hosting etc etc. OOH, the more we make available free, the more people sign-up. OTOH, the less reason to sign-up as a paying member. OTGH, more people participating but not paying puts bandwidth costs up.
