Don`t get some peoples idea of removing and supplying an engine, currently fitting an engine for a customer who bought it not seen. The customer removed the plenum for powder coating and dropped the rest with us for build up cam belt service etc etc and fit into his zed.

But why remove the engine by cutting the wiring loom to the alternator, cut the oil cooler rubber pipes, hack the ac pipes, cut the cable to the oil pressure sender etc.

So making the job harder by cutting stuff is just bonkers, next to no time saving when removing from the donor zed, just unprofessional and lazy in my view!

Jeff, sorry to hijack an unrelated thread...I've emailed zedworld@btconnect.com twice this month looking for a quote for some work and have had no response, I know you're busy (I saw the pic you posted of the garage full of zeds being tucked in for the night) but I, like most, would love to have the zed on the road for the summer. Any chance of having a look for me please and pinging me back when you get a chance? Email address it was sent from start with youngross@

Thanks mate.

Hi Jeff, This is just how my engine arrived on a pallet..... I have loads of spare connectors with short stubby wires now if any of mine break....lol

It appears that the people who break them cannot use spanners or screwdrivers only cutters and saws.......... makes me worry what else they took shortcuts on......

Many thanks Jeff I appreciate you must be snowed under, if it helps dig the emails out they were sent on 12th and 18th May. Had car off the road for timing belt, service, suspension, exhaust and brakes last summer and really want to get use of it this year and would prefer it was properly setup by yourselves...hopefully you don't discover any surprises anything like that in this thread! :sweatdrop:

Cheers

Hi Jeff, that is how all Jap imported motors arrive here in South Adfrica...for ease of removal from the car. I have had a FWD engine and gear box arrive in the same state, even the drive shafts were cut off at the inner cv joints.

Cheers

That's how most scrappies remove engines from a car. Imagine how long it'd take if they worked through carefully removing everything...
